    Weather

I like fairness in the world and it does seem so unfair at the amount of people who are living in fear for not only drought but fire as well. I'm fortunate to live in a country with no shortage of water and complain about the amount of it but what is happening in a lot of Australia makes me...

    Vacuuming—sooooooo much hair

I took down the Christmas tree and OMGOODNESS the hairs under it and it had only been up a week. I actually had to insist when one lot of visitors came and I hadn't vacuumed for a few days, that they put their shoes back on.

    What made you smile today?

Checking out some of the dog photos on here. I can't be the only one that smiles when looking at happy dogs, can I?

    What made you smile today?

A dirty dog ( now don't shout about the dogmatic, it's my double security as we were about to enter the sheep field, he doesn't wear it often) he jumped in the water trough, got clean, jumped out and proceeded to roll in the muck.

I have a calendula flowering at the moment. We have had a few frosty nights but it didn't die.

    What made you smile today?

My 7 year old granddaughter saying thank you to Alexa (amazon echo ) for answering her questions about Christmas and she's doing it so politely. If she gets asked if she wants to ask anything else, she is now answering 'yes please'.

    What made you smile today?

Sheep gone from the second field. We have them back to ourselves and Cupar greeting his friend Rocky from the other side of the field. The sun shining, blue skies, no wind, beautiful views and my boy practicing stay and actually staying. My perfect morning.

    Working with Bramble....

This is a delight to read. To see Bramble so eager to do it again is nice but to know that you trained her to do this using positive methods gives me hope that one day, most if not all dogs can be taught how we want them to behave and be taught to do the jobs they were bred for, by teaching them...

    Hattie, her lump and arthritis

Cassie has arthritis in her hips and the only feet she drags/trips is her back ones, never her front and only when I've walked her too far. She's also stiff getting up. She wobbles on her back end but this is recent, she's lost muscle tone in her hips. She definitely doesn't walk the distance...

I'm so proud of my boy

I never, ever believed that any dog of mine would ever have a decent recall. So if I can do it, anyone can.

    HOW MANY?????

Nah there's at least six million hairs on my floor, in my food, all over my clothes, in my bed, on my chairs and I have yet to get on top of it, there on top of me, like a second set of clothes. There's must be at least the same again on Cassie, never had a dog that has as much hair.

I'm so proud of my boy

This is the third time Cupar has come running to me instead of chasing a hare. Walking on the footpath, fenced at both sides but the horse field fence has shrunk in height by the previous horses. Cupar was running in front of me when a huge hare darted out and ran down the field the horses were...

Don't worry... she will teach my dog a lesson!

Very easy to create a dog with reactivity. I don't know why but in all the years I have had dogs, I have never met as many people who really do believe that, your dog can teach their dog manners. Hopefully Bramble will be like most dogs and continue to be her sweet lovely self and not be...

Never underestimate what a dog will resource guard

Thanks everyone. Well today has been so normal, I have been more aware of the signals that each of them uses. This afternoon, Cassie brought her Kong through to her bed in the sitting room, Cupar reads her perfectly, he tries to walk past Cassie, always watching her, she lifted her head ever so...

Never underestimate what a dog will resource guard

My two are fed in separate rooms, I have got complacent by not closing the dog gate, lesson learned. What really irks me, is that both dogs are fed a varied diet of fresh food and we've never had an anything like this between them before. Cassie decides a piece of crap was a prized possession...

Never underestimate what a dog will resource guard

I let my daughters dog out for a pee today and took Cassie with me. Cassie stole a raw hide belonging to Max. Cassie was never good at leave it but under no circumstances would she give it up. So I walked her home carrying it. There was no way she was being allowed to chew that, it was bleached...
