It's not cheap. But when I added up the costs of the tablets, the drops, the ear-wipes.....the additional cost comes down. And then there's the fact that it actually works.... it seems like a good deal.

I think so. Although to be honest I've not been paying much attention - I've always assumed that his recurrent ear problems are a matter of recurrent infections (yeast / bacterial) so I've not noted the time of year. It was only recently that the vet pointed out that the underlying issue...

I believe so. My (admittedly limited) understanding is something like this. Most treatments for itchiness (e.g. steroids) work by making some changes to major body systems (hormonal, etc) in order to stop the itch-scratch cycle. The side-effects that arise are because those systems have wider...

So far Pongo's injection has lasted just over 6 weeks. I think I'm possibly noticing a little more itchiness in him the last couple of days, but I might be imagining it (I'm a bit paranoid over it). I'll post here when / iff he needs another one.

I've posted separately on this. Since the cytopoint, he has been completely itch-free. No scratching, no head-shaking, just a happy dog. His ears were still a bit stinky so I carried on with the drops for a week...but that didn't seem to make any difference so I stopped. The stink...

Just felt I had to share this, although there is a huge chance I'm talking too soon and will jinx it. BUT.... For years and years now Pongo has had recurrent itchy ear problems, especially in allergy season. It's not a major life-threatening condition, but it is horrid watching him shake and...
