Barney has been found !!!!!

I cant believe I am writing this but he is safe and home ! This lunchtime a fisherman found him, a long way down the river behind some rocks where he had been swept . He still had his collar and tag , so Kathryn was telephoned . He is very weak , is covered in ticks , starving hungry but after a vet check, he has just gone home !!!!!! I am so happy for Kathryn , and so thank you again , what wonderful news xxxxxxxxxxxxx

He was swept some way down but somehow managed to drag himself out onto the bank where he lay for five full days and nights . At eleven years old, this is amazing , and all he has to show for it is a limp and some ticks ! I will sleep easier tonight ! xxxxx

Wow that's fantastic news. It must have been a very emotional but fabulous reunion. Poor Barney it must've been very traumatic for him as well as for his owner but a wonderful happy ending.

Have just spoken to Kathryn , she is crying and laughing all at once ! Barney is tucked up in his bed with a blankie over him , she must feed him little and often which is hard as he is very hungry ! Her other dog Monty is delighted to have his pal back , it really is the best news today and Kathryn says to thank you all so very much for your good wishes and hopes xxxx

Yes, I remember when I was a kid our neighbours lost their cocker spaniel on the Ashdown forest for 5 days. They had to do the same thing. The first thing I'd want to do is give him a blimmin big feed!!
