Actually had a horrible time tonight. There was a dog barking somewhere close by, all the gunfire ran outside and Bella squeaked and ran back. She was just outside the door at the time, the only thing that could have happened was one of the others brushing past her. But her prolapse was completely skinned and just a mass of blood, dripping on the floor. So awful. Any hesitation I had before about the surgery disappeared. She can’t carry on like this. She’s so stoic, bless her, but there’s no way that wasn’t terribly sore.

How horrible for you both. How soon is she having the op.

I think it bothers me more than it does her! It was really horrid last night and I texted the vet to see if it was an emergency. I'm really worried about infection, so keeping it as clean as possible, using ProShield as a barrier and keeping her in a nappy except on walks. I'm worried about the surgery because it is so complicated, but last night cemented the absolute need for it to be done.

How soon is she having the op.

The surgery is booked for Wednesday morning, so not long to wait.

I think it bothers me more than it does her!

I wonder if there are limited nerves there or if there is nerve damage? Maybe that (mercifully) keeps her from feeling much of what is going on back there...

I dunno, she certainly squealed when it happened, and does if the nappy sticks to it, or even if I get too close when I'm showering her. I think that part has plenty of nerves, unfortunately, and she's just a stoic little thing, like them all - even if she is a total drama queen about some things!

Poor thing. Poor you. Hopefully the surgery will make it right. But what about pooing during the recovery phase?

I see that little spaniel that looks like Bella quite often now, and think of Bella every time. Took a quick snap as we passed each other last Thursday morning, but the spaniel just looks like a whirr of white!

Not a good day for Bella.

It's raining hard. Bella. Does. Not. Like. Rain.
Had to wear a jacket.
No treats on our walk (but did get to play with a boll which isn't too bad, spose)
NO BREAKFAST WTF?!?!?!
Had to have a shampoo and set at the back end. How undignified.
And then ABANDONED at the vet's.

PS the Look of Doom is only because of the rain. She actually weirdly likes wearing things - harnesses, nappies, and this jacket all have her rushing over and doing a happy tippy-tappy dance and then spins once they're on.

Yes, I was really very worried after the vet said it was a complicated surgery. Earlier this morning, I even found myself bargaining with her old dead owner to let me have a little more time with her
I wasn't expecting her to be out of surgery so soon, so I was terrified answering the call when it came!

Big. Relief.

I might take a note from @Candy's book and have a smoll glass of wine later on.
