I don't Mags, with all that chair-sitting Echo might FAIL and then what a horrible fate that would be. Especially for you. ;)
:giggl:

In all seriousness the thing Echo is very poor at, which he has to pass with flying colours, is being checked over. Ears, teeth, paws etc.

The vet nurse is helping me twice a week to get him used to it and I’m practicing every day. He’s getting much better with ears, eyes and teeth but he absolutely hates having his paws touched.

I will do my very best - I don’t want to be guilty of sabotage!

We went for marvellous birthday meal for a friend at a posh restaurant in Manchester today. It is in a really nice up-and-coming posh district. There were six of us, we went on the train and Echo didn’t put a paw wrong. It was one of those places where they bring the meat to the table on giant skewers. He didn’t even put a sniffy nose up.

The staff adored him.

How is the lockdown going to impact his training @Boogie? Obviously he can’t access restaurants... will it delay it?
This is the question for all pups and guide dogs in training.

Luckily Echo is a bit older and has already had many experiences. He’s likely to pick up where he left off, with a gentle easing in.

Of course, his castration is late so that will have to be done and dusted before he moves on. Though I think the vets will be doing them well before the GD schools reopen.

It’s the younger pups who have never been in all the places they need to visit every week that may struggle. I think we may see a lot of them withdrawn.

I am letting Echo do norty things at the moment, I don’t have the mental energy to worry about small things. But I will deny all knowledge! :giggl:

We had a lovely walk in the woods. I went very early this morning to avoid meeting anyone. His recall is becoming dodgy due to lack of practice. Sad, because all my pups have had 100% recall. He’s fine when there are no dogs around, but if he sees a dog all ideas of coming back to me have gone. He should have had his purses emptied this month, which would have taken a weight off his mind.

Hopefully we’ll be able to get his recall back when dog walks become more normal and when in-person puppy classes resume. Zoom puppy classes are brilliant but not for dog distraction. The work we usually do on recall and ignoring other dogs pays off 100 fold - and it really shows now that we are doing puppy classes ‘alone’ in his mind.

Sorry about the wee but I had to show you his magnificent tail! :giggl:
