Is there a minimum age to use Suprelorin, do you know?If you’re having issues with him, ask about Suprelorin. It will give you six months or so to assess the difference in him and if it improves things, a bit of peace while you’re dealing with your own stuff.
I don’t know, but my instinct is that I wouldn’t use it in an immature dog because it messes with the hormones just like neutering does, and so I guess the downsides could be the same as an early neuter. That’s only a hunch, so something to discuss with your vet if you need to.Is there a minimum age to use Suprelorin, do you know?
My thoughts too - not that I know anything about male dogscould your vet fit Reuben in pronto for the neuter so that he would be recovered by the time you need to go to hospital? If you explained your dilemma
I honestly dont think it would have made any difference on a walk , Reuben and Carbon have often just met up on our garden or Emilys garden , and this has never ever happened before . Yes , we did manage a good old chat, once I had put Reuben indoorsSorry Reuben wasn't his old self. He maybe would have been OK on a walk, but in the garden with nothing else to think about he's turned his energies to Carbon. Hope you still got a good old chinwag with Emily though x
I think Monty was the same, 7-10 days on lead, quick vet check up and away. You could also see if you could try chemical castration first as there's no surgery involved then?I never had an issue with Stanley being neutered.
There wasn’t really a recovery as such, just lead walks for a week or so. The first night he was a bit funny after the GA but apart from that it was straight forward x
It would seem that Castrated males ( Carbon is castrated ) are desirable to entire males as I believe that they give off a similar scent to female dogs . Reuben had a thorough check up at the Vets very recently when he went for his Lepto shot , he is healthy, fit as a fiddle and good as gold , apart from this development over the past few weeks/months . He has no other issues , soft as a brush which makes this so horrible for him xA neutering op is over quickly, a bit of crying the night of the op because of the anaesthetic and then lead walking for ten days (or less if you are me!). However, it does seem strange that Reuben should suddenly exhibit sexual behaviour especially with male dog. I think a trip to the vet.
Just a general nosy question, (again) have you seen all the seasons in the UK Emily? How does that happen? For someone who grew up in a place with only two seasons and flowers pretty much year round, seeing everything pop out at once after three months of bare branches just gets me every time!
