Homer being sick

I’m so sorry. So much more worry when you’re there faced with everything. Hopefully Homer will improve now that you’re back. But I’m sorry you have to go back to work full time especially now. xxx

He had a better few days. Unfortunately this morning has been a bit of a set back. He was retching from about 5am and then brought up bile a few times. He was nauseous and didn’t want to eat anything this morning. I gave him some butternut and half a tin of food for lunch but half of that has come out again.
It’s such a horrible condition. He is so thin.

I am so sorry, it must be wretched for you both. Do you think there is any food which makes him retch? Could he have an allergy to certain foods?

He’s on the same food. I think he retches when he has lumps stuck in his oesophagus that he can’t get out. Sometimes we give him water to flush out stuck lumps. This morning we gave him water but then he vomited it all out with mixed with yellow bile. Then a bit more retching and brining up small amounts of bile.
In the new year we are considering taking him back to RVC for an endoscopy which may give us more answers but is quite invasive.

Yes, He is being quite a bit better recently. I he's put on a bit more weight, not a lot, but his ribs don't show as much. I had a meeting with his new dog walker who is going to pop in to see him twice a day. She knows him well as we've often chatted when we've met up in the park. It's going to be tough saying good buy to his old dog walker but hopefully this arrangement will work better for him and he won't need to get in and out of a van. I am still aprehensive.
