Homer being sick

Just catching up and seen all your supportive messages.Thank you:heart:

quite a different experiencegoing to a teaching hospital. Young 4th year took our case history, then went off to relay to the consultant. Spent a long time discussing everything all again. He went off to consult his supervisor and the pharmacy team. Then he gave us a whole tray of low fat gastro royal canine tins to try. Other vet sent over the scans so he’ll go through all those in greater detail. Didn’t think we should retest but did say they’d investigate lower sphincter achalasia. This is quite rare in dogs.
Homer was his usual lovely self and had all the vets adore him. So compliant during all the investigations. Even performed perfectly by being sick all over reception and the consulting room.

Homer has been so much better this week with me at home. We haven't yet had a day with no sickness but its definitely reduced. He's now on Royal Canine Low Fat 4 tins a day and half a pint of jelly. I've stopped the slippery elm and protien powder until we get a better regular pattern for at least two weeks. I found a lovely pharmacy who will be able to order his sildenafil in a liquid form, it's expensive but worth a try to see if there is any difference.

I don't miss work one bit, although I do need to start doing some self improvement so I've dug out my French books and my knitting. I went rowing with a local group yesterday but managed to fall in the water before even getting in the boat!

What a super update to read, glad it’s heading in a more positive direction and huge kudos to you for gathering a good support team. Rowing sounds fun, I guess swimming is part of the deal! Really pleased you’re not missing work.
