Homer being sick

Having a few better days. He is retching at night but not regurgitating as much. He was quite lively and strutted along on his walk this afternoon. Work is still being a pain. Finally, I have a meeting scheduled for tomorrow. Not expecting much, only that this step has to be taken before I make an appeal. Having to force them to follow thier own policy is tiresome.

I must say, that as an employer, it seems all the rights are on the side of the employee.
The tough bit is, that if you have to bring in unions, arbitration, or lawyers, it damages the emploee-employer relationship and makes you think seriously as to whether you need to be changing jobs 🙁
I hope they are just posturing and it all works out fine tomorrow

Stick to your guns @JES72. I once had to involve my union over what would have been a major injustice - it nearly bought me to my knees…..but I got there with my union supporting me. I have to say, now I am well into retirement and look back at that unpleasant time, that I am so glad I did what I did - it would have rankled for ever

@JES72 I’ve just caught up again and was very glad when I got to the bit were Homer’s legs had improved. Laryngeal paralysis which Scout had is neurological and can affect the legs. Scout’s legs did get weaker and he had problems vomiting so I have a good idea what you and poor Homer are going through. I hope you get on ok with work today and they let you go part time. It’s such a stressful time.

September sounds like long way away but its not that far in school terms. Full time from Jan to March, then I can arrage 4 days till June then three from September.

I have contacted a lovely lady who lives round the corner who we've often met on our walks so she knows Homer well and knows about his condition. She'll be able to come to the house and sit with him, feed him lunch and take his for a short walk which is all we need. He may still go to his normal dog walker one day a week as they love him too.

No retching or regurgitation all night. I slept so well despite being half squashed by Homer that I had forgotten it is my birthday today until I wnet down stairs and Hubby had my cards and presents set out!
