@Naya I’m glad Harley is feeling a bit better today. I’ve just caught up and I’m so sorry your going through all this worry. The wait is just horrible for you all. I do hope the results come back soon and with a good result.

I think the anaesthetic upsets them more than the actual op. Glad to read she is somewhat better today, should be back to normal by tomorrow. I am so sorry you are having a wait, waiting is horrible.

Poor doggie. ❤ If you apply heat would it help ease it a bit? You can put a dishcloth in the microwave for a few seconds to heat it up and then wrap around the leg.

We have tried heat and cold and neither seems to help (doesn’t help that she won’t keep it on for more than 2 minutes!).
She’s always on tiptoe on that foot and when she walks her hock nearly hits the floor. We went for a 5 min walk yesterday (end of our road and back), most of it was sniffing but she struggled on that leg for ages afterwards.

Ring your vet for better pain relief you've probably going to have to deal with the weekend so get stocked up with proper effective pain relief so she can cope easier. Just let her potter round the garden and use any means which help support her.

Did they check for a foreign object in the toe webbing? Or at least an entry point? When Snowie had a giant lump on the top of his foot, the new vet said the dreaded C word. When the experienced vet came back from leave, she inspected the underside of his paw, found a hole, followed the entry point and removed a grass seed. Under GA of course!
