Totally different but I fostered a dog for 2 years and gave her up about a year ago now... she has an AMAZING new life (retired family who spend their life either on houseboats or walking around the countryside) she is so much better off with them as she was a very high drive breed who really didn’t cope with me working (but my situation was better than the kennels she was in)

Anyway the adopters stay in regular touch and I get a text around once a month with pictures... I have to be honest and say that as much as I love getting them... I hate it too, because it might be that I’m not thinking about her and then I get one and bang I’m back into missing her terribly...

It’s so very hard what you are doing but so worthwhile
