Lump on the side of Hunter's Cheek

Oh my! Just catching up, how absolutely awful for you. Thinking of you. Is there another good specialist hospital you could take him as an emergency?:hug:

I’m so sorry. Yes, I’d also be worrying about the eye swelling and finding another vet ASAP. They’d need to sedate him so he wouldn’t be stressed having the probe up his nose.

I spoke to the specialist but he is actually full (good reputation = busy schedule) and wants him for the full day and not a half day. I gave him NOVACAM (he has that for his joints) and he is still taking the antibiotics.
He will be under anesthetic during the probing and they may need to remove the lump as well. His eye seems better now but snot is streaming out his nose (no sneezing today!) He is now asleep with my son (sent home from school this morning with stomach cramp) on the sofa. They both seem settled for now.

I've come straight to Hunter's thread to check up and I'm so sorry you've now got to wait until Thursday. Waiting, wondering and not knowing is the hardest part. Thursday will come round soon though and I'd like to think your vet would've got Hunter in sooner as an emergency if she thought it necessary. This might sound bad but I'm glad he nearly pulled you over into his poop to try and go see another lab. It shows he's still very much alert and up for a bit of fun which is a good sign. All you have to do is get tomorrow over with then Hunter will be in the best hands available, diagnosed and on the mend and hopefully your son will be feeling better too. Take care of yourself as well as those boys of yours it will all be sorted soon.

I'm so sorry, this is terribly difficult for you, Hunter and your family. I really hope the vet can get it sorted with all he will do on Thursday - just a shame you have the wait, but it sounds as if you have the best available so that will mean he's more likely than anyone else to find out and put right what is wrong with Hunter.

Wishing you the very best of luck and as restful a night as possible before Thursday.
