Vet said to keep him off the ground outside our home. Possibly due to us being in a high dog population area and there are a lot of foxes about too. So may be a chance of nasty bugs about like parvovirus. I can’t wait to have him on the ground exploring, he is needing more stimulation.
Oh what fun! Not long now - then those magical few days when he’ll sleep like a log before he adjusts to all the new smells and sensations!

:weary:🤢🤮He’s just eaten his poop:dogpoo: He been very interested in his poop and wanted to eat it. I hadn’t realist he’d gone before he ate it all up. Stinky boy! I really hope he grows out of this and it doesn’t become a thing he does.
He will grow out of it - there’s lots of good evolutionary reasons they eat their poo when they’re puppies, such as recycling nutrients and hiding evidence of their existence from predators. Just keep picking it up once he’s gone, try not to make a big deal if he does eat it (I know, easier said than done!) and that behaviour will extinguish over time.
Kipper did this when we first had him and we were so worried he had a behavioural issue but it’s so common - just under-discussed.

@JES72, I was demonstrating at the three counties show ground here and asked a chap to hold my dog. Half way through the demonstration, a voice came over the loudspeaker, "there is a black dog running loose" - it was mine! I found the chap and he was still standing there with the lead dangling, he had had no idea Jake had bitten through his lead and was off looking for me! Stanley looks such a very good puppy in the cafe, he must be such a pleasure for you.
