Mr Stanley Blue

How did you find them?? I thought they swallowed their teeth.
He was on my lap chewing on a raw hide chew and it fell out in my hand. the other one I picked up off the floor. He's lost quite a few more that haven't been found. His blanked that he holds in his mouth has blood spots all over it. I'm not sure how all these big teeth fit into his little mouth, they look far too big for him - no doubt his jaw will grow to fit them all in.

He is becoming such a lovely easy dog in so many ways - if only he didn’t try to eat me as much. I’m sure he thinks I have fleas as he nibbles and nips at me with his front teeth. Not the best way to be woken up at 5am!
Hugo nibbled me too, like I was a corn on the cob! I read that it means they view you as one of their pack members 🥹 Not sure how true it is but Hugo still does it to me sometimes (much gentler now) and it melts my heart ❤

We are still struggling with Stanley as he is still not sleeping through the night. This last week he’s been awake and wanting to nibble me at 4am. He’s six months old so really should be able to sleep through the night.
As one of the girls at school said to me while discussing Stanley’s latest antics, “Miss, you really do need your beauty sleep!”

What does Stanley sleep in? I guess you don’t use a crate. When Red was a puppy, she was in a crate until 11 months and I had a fairly thick blanket I used to put over it at night. Could you create a den for him?
We initially had him in a crate all night with a cover over it, and all was fine. Then when he was a bit older he started barking and barking so only way to get any peace was to have him upstairs. He was fine upstairs with us for a while on a dog bed next t ours but he wakes up earlier and earlier and just wants to nibble at me. We tried the crate upstairs but he just barked in that too. He’s ok with going into the crate during the day and will choose to go there on his own sometimes,

I recall Snowie as a puppy used to throw a tantrum at around 5am if we didn’t get up. He would toss his bed across the bedroom! I don’t know if this is the correct advice, but we were told to ignore him, which we tried to. But we’d heave with laughter under the duvet at his tantrum antics. Anyway, it did pass, perhaps cos we ignored it. I can’t recall!! I think we’ve just got used to being sleep deprived, and now, as he ages, he sometimes “has to go” in the middle of the night. We desperately need our beauty sleep!! 😅

Stanley’s sleeping is getting better despite the other night when he woke me up ringing his bells five times during the night to go snail hunting. Then last night he was alert barking through the night and running from the front door to the back door, only to find there’d been another rat in our cellar which had gotten into the big plastic box of extra groceries. i hadn’t closed the lid properly. He is a very good pup despite still going through moments of wanting to eat me but he is getting more gentle with his teeth.5A81435A-828D-4511-9991-04B48FE1E4AC.jpeg
