My witness has said that she will be happy to come to court , there are lots of good people, thank goodness xxx
It is normally done all on line now. My OH made a claim and just filled in all the information and won.
Just make sure you have all the information eg from vets, photo, police report etc before you start to fill it in.
Have someone with you when you do it helps.

Go to your Citizens advice they have a solicitor who will be there about once a week that would advise you Kate.
My son use to do it for our local branch.

And of course I will deduct the amount raised by the Just Giving page xx
I'm in the 'No' camp too, Kate. Claim the maximum amount possible from the guilty party and if there is anything left over I'm sure people would be happy if you gave it to the Dogs Trust or RSPCA or something like that. Don't go easy on them - they certainly haven't made things easy for you.

People donated to help you and Nelly not the other dog owners. Claim the full amount from them actions have consequences they need to feel the full weight of their actions. You can use it for all other costs incurred from this and any you don't donate to a charity.

Absolutely claim the full amount from these sad excuses from humans. As @SwampDonkey says, the donated funds can be used for ongoing vet expenses or donations you choose.

I don’t know what is allowed in small claims, but perhaps you can even add more for future vet costs to be incurred due to the current injuries?

In any case, hopefully you feel you can use the donations immediately to ease the financial burden - you don’t need that on top of everything else. I imagine the court case will take a while. When that resolves, you can decide what you want to do with any ‘extra’ money (if indeed there is any).

I'm in agreement with the others over this, also it might be useful to have some funds put away in reserve incase Nelly should need more veterinary treatment further down the line as a result of her injuries. I really hope she doesn't, but it would probably be reassuring for you to have something put by for this. I'm so very glad she's improving , little Nelly Superdog!
