Carbon has been spending a lot of time lately...er...spending. Or spending a penny, as @Boogie would say. I noticed him having a bit of post-wee leakage a few weeks ago, then the last few days he was longer having his wee. Today it just got ridiculous. Out in the rain, the dreaded wet from above, and yet he took 15 minutes just to wee, standing there like a statue while the Cornish heavens dumped on him. That CAN'T be right!
Still I didn't truly worry until this evening when he not only stood there for what seemed like eternity, he looked truly uncomfortable.
He's had a change of diet since we came back to the UK (so the last month). Instead of home-cooked, I've ordered a low purine raw pre-made food for him. Despite being low purine - which he needs to be on because of his Leishmaniosis medication - I think this food has done a number on him. His poos are like rocks which has been causing him to circle and strain and now the urinating issue. He's also drinking much more than he should be.
He was full of bounce today so I was just planning a supermarket trip to start him on home-made again with the idea that a change back to his old diet would sort him. But tonight he's really uncomfortable and keeps wanting to go out even after he's just come in.
I looked up difficulty urinating and of course Doctor Google has terrified me by saying that inability to urinate is a medical emergency. Gah!
All that to say that I think tomorrow we'll be finding out how an emergency vet visit works during lockdown!
