The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

Hola amigos! Pues, today was pretty relajado, relaxed, and we mainly just ambled about and took a nice siesta on the sofa.

We started with a sunrise walk with lots of pretty colors.
IMG_5216.jpeg

I also did some posing in one of my favorite spots, which, la verdad, means you have seen this photo about three dozen times. ML needs to shake up her art direction! But I still look muy guapo. A classic is a classic .

For something different, and as an excuse to sit in a boat going all the way around the main island, we went to Murano.

Murano is a special island where they make glass . It is not so very pretty and many of the shops on the main canal sell more glass from places far away instead of from the island (that seems a leeetle silly), but I had fun poking my handsome Spanish nose around and meeting some local dogs.

Then we got back on the boat where we got a great seat outside next to some Australian tourists who thought I was WONDERFUL and gave me lots of pets and admiration.
IMG_5268.jpeg

We took the boat all around the backside of Venice, which is not so pretty like the Grand Canal, but has interesting things like a very big hospital with a special emergency room boat dock for water ambulances.
IMG_5273.jpeg

For our final boat back home, we had the whole outside area to ourselves. Que bien! There were almost no tourists today in any part of Venice, but we expect the deluge to start tomorrow . I am ready, estoy listo! I personally love tourists because it means more people to admire me.

And maybe give me treats. More treats are ALWAYS better, no?

Amigos , we had a photo safari this morning! What is a photo safari? It is when ML takes the big camera along and we walk down any street we do not already know. Today’s safari was pretty close to home, but still we found some interesting spots. And on the way home, I got stopped for pets by a woman who also has a Labrador, but hers weighs 50kg. Can you imagine?! Ojalá! She showed us photos and he looks like a big bear! ML always makes the same joke when people call me small: “Señor Carbón is perfectly travel-sized.” Which is really only the truth, no?

This orange building really sets off the nobility of my head, which ML says is growing from all my Italian fans who stop me on the street. She says we need to go back to Germany soon or my head will not fit in our tiny car. She is so strange!
IMG_5287.jpeg

Atmospheric street shot, but sadly no Señor.
IMG_5325.jpeg

Here I am! Taking in the Grand Canal.
IMG_5352.jpeg

Ohhhh, a spot of sun!
IMG_5326.jpeg

Mira, look! My own pretty blue entrance to a canal. Can I go for a swim?
IMG_5320.jpeg

Back home again: here I am at the entrance to our house.

Ooooo, sunset boat ride on the Grand Canal with a boat change and photos of meeee in San Marco. The tourists have ARRIVED - it is loco !

@Jelinga here is one for you showing the crowd.
IMG_5376.jpeg

The Christmas tree is still very pretty. ML put me on top of the high water walkway so I did not get my adorable toes trampled on.

IMG_5375.jpeg

The sunset was increible! Sí, usually ML edits her photos so that I do not look like a black ink spot with no face - her words. But she did not touch these photos. It really did look like that.

Thank you for showing me the crowds. When we went in October a few years back, no crowds, just the sound of footsteps and the bells, wonderful. Your photos are wonderful, the sunset superb, what memories you are creating and living the best life at this moment x

Queridos amigos, I wish you all a very feliz navidad from the bottom of my Spanish gentleman corazon!

We have just had our traditional Christmas Eve walk. We love it in Regensburg because after a month of Christmas market insanity in the Old Town, nearly everyone leaves and peace reigns. Even the cars have gone , so it is like travelling back in time.

This evening in Venice was also very calm. Most restaurants are closed, only two water bus lines are running, and where ever all our fellow tourists are, it was not on the streets with us. It was both very peaceful and gave off a leeetle murder mystery vibes!

Ojalá, we made it back home safe and sound and now will have a nice cuddle and and early night waiting for Santa. I have been muy bueno this year, so I am hoping he will bring me something wonderful!

Posing like the super estrella that I am.

What a magical experience to be the only ones in Venice. I adored the first photo, just loved his face, one to frame.

Ooooo amigos, today was a modelling extravaganza with lots of adventure! We left home at 6:30 am to beat the crowds and went to our favorite island, Burano. Great planning except ML did not think about ALL facilities bring closed when we arrived - if you know what I mean - which meant that we had to hunt around for a place to illegally wee in someone’s back garden. And amigos , I am not talking about ME!

Humans are so weird - why do they not just proudly hike their leg any and everywhere like dogs? Ojalá!

Pues, our photo safari lasted 8 hours - sí, sí, she also got on the wrong boat to go home - so we are beat. But in the spirit of giving you a leeetle taste of yesterday and today, here goes!

A lion. Rawrrrr!
IMG_5577.jpeg

Our gondola repair shop in the sunshine.
IMG_5640.jpeg

The view from our kitchen - wheeeee!
IMG_5648.jpeg

The most noble of profiles .
IMG_5631.jpeg

Who? Me? Sí!
IMG_5668.jpeg

And the only one from today. Let me just say that I was spectacular! ML is taking this with a zoom lens AND there were people walking past me. Did I move? No! My dedication to my craft is boundless. Also you will see more of this pose from different angles because I am pretty sure she took 200 shots while I was up there .

Hola queridos amigos! It is our last day in Eatally and I must say, we are both a leeetle ready to hang up our traveling shoes for a while. ML has enough photos to post here all winter long, even if she takes not one single shot in Cornwall. Which, la verdad, we all know will NOT happen. I do not blame her: if you lived with me you could not resist the call of the camera either!

So again today , just a few of the hundreds that still need a bit of an edit to make me look my best.

A last tour of San Marco early this morning

A muy estraño light in the square - sí, those are seagulls!

Sí, another one of me on the bridge . Tell her to stop, por favor? This one does show the leaning church tower off nicely though.
