Fabulous photos, @Emily_Babbelhund! I love that last one of Carbon on the bridge! Glad to hear you got to the TARDIS! But an unexplored WW2 bomb? Really? No one noticed before now? Amazing those things can still be discovered!
The bomb thing happens surprisingly often, we had one in our local city Exeter in 2021 that was found when building new houses. It was 1,000kgs and made a huuuge boom when they detonated it, they had to evacuate 2,600 households.
This year there was a couple who’d had an armed bomb in their garden for years without knowing it was live Garden ornament turns out to be live bomb - BBC News they were very funny on the interviews, apparently they used to clean the soil off their spades by banging it!

@Anne123 and @Jacqui-S thanks for your concern, but I’m still in Regensburg and spent the day chatting away and stuffing myself (and Carbón) with delicious Bavarian food - all too say I wasn’t amongst the poor people trying to get onto the Eurostar. The Shuttle (the train carrying cars from and to Calais and Folkestone ) apparently wasn’t affected today either .

We’ll be heading out of Regensburg tomorrow, and will cross over on Wednesday. The family who owns the house I rent in Cornwall has their big New Year’s party in the house, hangovers the 1st, they clean it the 2nd, so the 3rd is when I can roll in.

Fingers crossed no more rail weirdness happens on the 3rd and I can quietly survive my last rail experience for a good long while! 😉

Yes, ditto what @HAH wrote - WW2 bombs are pretty common. Sometimes they have to evacuate thousands of people. It’s usually when someone is doing new construction that they unearth one.

I was talking to a friend here in Regensburg and she says the geriatric hospital has gotten evacuated several times recently. Apparently it is located near one of the few places in Regensburg that was bombed by the Allies. It’s pretty wild to think that what happened 80 years ago still has such a big effect.

By the way , hats off to whomever takes care of these bombs. I was mildly inconvenienced on my train trip, but some brave person actually had to go in there are clear the thing out!

Pfft! ML keeps taking over MY space ! I am the King of Everything Señor here!

As such , I had a kingly breakfast at the hotel - so much cheese, bread, apples, pears, and peppers. It was so deleeeecious! Then we had a Schweinhaxe at our favorite Bavarian restaurant. Normally as a working dog, I am not allowed to eat in restaurants, but today ML took off my working vest and declared me to be officially on holiday. Que bien! On holiday tastes muy bueno!

I also got two bowls of water brought to me by two nice restaurant people . They then each argued that their bowl was better and that I should decide. I very politely drank from EACH bowl which made ML laugh.

I am nothing if not a very polite Spanish gentleman !

Amiiiiiigos! I know we are going to Cornbeefwall now because the TARDIS has landed in Calais! I know Calais! Weeeeeeee!

Last night was a bit rough. Our bed was cold and hard. Que suerte that I was there to keep ML warm and she was there to be my pillow. We take care of each other, sí?

But tonight we have a muy comfy teeny apartment right on the beach in Calais. Que bien! And we have tested the bed and it is perfecto. Ahhhhhhh!

Nearly night on the beach

It looks Belgium-ey to me. Did it smell of cabbages?
