Toby's Eighth Charmed Life

Fab! Glad the little guy is feeling a bit less achey. Gentle sniffy walks are a good idea to start of with, hiding treats then letting him "discover" them! Yumove is great, it does take about 6 weeks to work after front loading the initial dose.

My rehab vet was saying that she is seeing lots of stiff and achy dogs, must be something to do with the weather right now.

This is the dosing regime for Yumove Plus (same for the whole range..)

Feeding Guidelines for Yumove Plus

I really had thought we had turned a corner with this pain in Toby's back end but we are having a bad night with it again tonight. The symptoms are that he will leap up and spin around snapping at his rear end. Sometimes he will whine for a while afterwards. This can happen while he is awake or asleep. He is otherwise a healthy little dog.
I will go back to the vet but if anyone has any ideas I'll be eternally grateful.

I also wondered if he had something irritating his bottom. Maybe worms? Otherwise, sciatica can also be painful, and the electrical shocks—if this is what he has—can be alarming. Has his spine been checked?

Anything irritating his bottom? Such as an allergy? Poor wee lad...
No. The vet has seen him twice already and has emptied his anal glands ( he had infected anal glands once before). The only thing they found was a little bit of stiffness in his back legs. I shortened his walks and front loaded yumove because of this.

He has been wormed by his last adopter. His worming pills came with him. Sciatica is something I intend to ask about. I think it is time for a full scan and maybe xrays. It is breaking my heart!
