Weather

It's too hot for Homer.
Hubby always tells me he wants to move to a hot country. He doesn't know what it's like to be hot, hot, hot all the time. Being too hot for too long makes me really lethargic.

On my run yesterday morning, Squidge "fell" down a "hole" between two big boulders and couldn't get back out. She shouted at me, "MUM! I'M STUCK!!!!!". So I went to rescue her (daft sossidge) and as I struggled to lift her up, a cloud of mosquitoes arose from the azaleas I was trampling on and started sucking my blood. I scraped the ones off my arms, but this morning I am totally covered in bites on my legs, shoulders, neck, and back. I love the summer, but I bloody hate mosquitoes! That's something we rarely have to deal with in Spain.

We had thunder last night. When it started the sky went really dark and I sat out on the front lawn watching the lightning flash & fork, listening to the rumbling all around. I stayed when the rain started...then it got heavier and heavier so I went in. The weather station recorded a peak of 209mm/hour.
More thunder & lightning in the wee small hours. More rain.

We have had the first rain free day in ages , a slight mizzle first thing and then the sun came out but its chilly, not July weather at all . I`m just about to go out into the garden to play with the dogs , wearing a thick coat x

I just love the word 'mizzle'! It's not used up here ( possibly because we never get anything that gentle!) but I find it so descriptive.

@Cupcase, I feel for you. Our “summer” so fair has been pretty wet and far below average temps. Supposed to continue like that for all of July. Where as pretty much the whole rest of Canada is having higher than normal temps or just regular summer weather. Here in Alberta it’s been rain, rain, rain and cool.

We are having gorgeous winter weather at the moment. Sunny and 18 or 19 highs. However.......there is a massive low coming and they reckon Mon-Wed next week could see 100m of rain. Batten down the hatches!
