We have spent the last 24 hours with torrential rain and high winds, trees down and flooding - I was beginning to think the last year had been a dream and I had woken up in Scotland again  . Our village even made it on the local news last night with a report from the riverfront.
At the beginning of the week I was in shorts and now we’ve got the wood burner going - unbelievable  .

We've had a 'polar blast' cold change yesterday that had us running for jumpers and ugh boots. The wind was diabolical.

But then I saw what's happening down south @Oberon, @Emily and @VanillaBean - gah! Snow where it's never snowed before and highs of 10 or 12 - and it's late September! Madness
Yesterday was sooooooooooooooooooo cold!!! I took the boys and the girl out for a walk but decided to wear Jackson in a carrier so that we could share our body heat! I met a friend (Nathan's friend from Kinder and his mum - we're allowed to as it's one other adult, within our 5km, within the 2hr limit, distancing, mask wearing etc.etc.) and the boys ran around in the mud and puddles 😱. They had a great time but ended up freezing cold and soaking wet so it was straight home for a bath 😁

@Lab_adore Yep snow in the outback. Problem they had was it rained a lot last weekend and due to the drought it just flooded and closed roads, then got this cold snap and had snow and ice. Not the best time for them.
We just had hail and winds and our top was only about 8c but with the windfactor it was about 2/3c. Of course not as cold as the northern hemisphere, but when your houses are built for summer climate rather than winter you feel it more...
Can't wait for a bit more sensible weather...
@Emily kids look like they had fun and sure enjoyed a warm bath/shower when they got home. Just wait another couple of years and you will have 2 doing that and added bonus a dog assisting...

We've had very strong winds since Thursday, bringing the temperature crashing down. I've had jeans and a fleece on for a couple of days, although I'm stubbornly back to shorts again today. Happily, the temperatures are supposed to be going back up to mid-to-late twenties again this week. Our log burner isn't in action at the moment because J has been moving it while putting in our new floor, so we brought a gas fire in last night to take the chill off. I've been freezing at night: going from sleeping without any cover to being under a duvet and three blankets to get warm. Walking the dogs yesterday morning was FOURTEEN DEGREES!!! BRRR!!!!

Meanwhile, J has been up in Andorra where it's been snowing. He says I'm a wimp! :cold:

We had a lovely warm start to spring but the last week or so it has been quite cold. Looks like we are getting back to more spring-like weather from today across the weekend then crashing down again

I'll never forget how cold it is in the UK! Waiting for that train for 50 minutes (we just missed a train) when we were on our way back to London from meeting with @Natalie was diabolical! But we had such lovely memories from the meet up it didn't matter
