Hard pass. I'm just about as good on ferries as I am on planes. :shake:
No kidding. All these storms better die down before Carbon and I head off for Dublin/San Francisco. Otherwise I'm not getting on that plane. :speaktothehand:

I'm very grateful that we seem to have missed the damage and flooding that others in the UK have had (those poor people in Yorkshire!) but I'm just about done with being stuck indoors, no matter how cozy. Time for Dennis to go take himself off somewhere else.

Our plane was very waggly on landing. But my son tells me it’s not a problem, they won’t land unless they know they can do it safely - and first officers aren’t allowed to land in high winds, only captains.

My son starts his captains training in June. He will be doing 1000s of hours in sims in high winds before he’s let loose on the public. :)

Are you Ok @Selina27 ? Hearing some awful things on the news from your part of the country.
Thanks Fay, it has been pretty diabolical up here, but for myself it is just been inconvenient, not so for everyone. You can see where the water must have risen to in the streams overnight on Sunday, it must of been absolutely torrential. One place that is normally scarcely a trickle has been completely gouged out by the force of the water, and not just gravel but big stones and rocks deposited at the bottom.

My daughters boyfriend had a scare on Saturday, he farms on the edge of the Brecon Beacons, he got into difficulty with his 4x4 truck towing a trailer with 2 cattle in -- the force of the water, which had risen very quickly as he had not long driven through it previously, pushed his vehicle off the road and a nearby farmer had to lift it up with his telescopic handler, to safety. Scary stuff.

I have a serious question. My heart goes out to all the people who have had to move out due to flooding and nothing brings it home to me, is when it involves people with animals.
Watching the news, the reporter was pulled down a street in a boat and introduced to some of the people who have 'refused' to leave their homes.
One couple are upstairs and asked why they haven't moved out, as there is no electricity or heating and the downstairs under water. Their reply was because of the amount of animals they have. They had chickens which are now being kept in the bathroom and they have a couple of cats and dogs. So I can understand why they need to stay.

So my question is, what do you do in such circumstances with your animals?
