Weather

I'm in my anti sunlight bunker. I been up since 4am. Did me lots of house work washing walked the dogs before it got hot. My leg and foot is now swollen up. Im still working in the house the dogs have gone to sleep.

I'm in a dress, one of my lovely summer holiday dresses I bought for going to Croatia, it's now getting worn in my back garden, although I'm off to a barbecue at my daughters, this is where she is spending her 2 weeks summer holiday, in her back garden ( and both her and her OH have worked more hours than normal right through lockdown) and as this is the ONLY warm DRY day of her 14 day holiday, she's making the most of it.

Yesterday I was wearing trousers, vest, jumper wet proofs and wellies to walk the dogs and today I'm in a short sleeved dress.

Fortunately my sitting room faces north-east, so the dogs and I have retreated there where it’s cool, as long as I keep the doors and windows shut! It’s too hot for them to go out in the garden now. :(

After all my gloomy winter posts I have to pop in and say we are having a pretty decent summer so far. We HAVE had a LOT of rain, but it’s been mixed with a lot of sunshine. Rain pretty much every day but sun every day, too. Decent temps for the most part. This past week it’s been hot and sunny, 25-30C, but with some thunderstorms that have kept everything green. Luckily no hail. My garden is the best it’s ever been!

So, I’m enjoying summer, yay!:sun:

(The thunderstorms can be a bit worrying, though. Last weekend an acquaintance’s house was struck by lightning and burnt down. As it so happened my OH was supposed to have been there that very time but he had something else come up. :whew:)

Sunny and 19 here today. Maxx has been asleep in the sun for ages. The forecast for the week is sun sun sun :sun:. After last week's Sun-Tues three days of relentless rain it is welcome. Warming up into the 20's mid-week before plunging back to 16 later in the week

It's why we are so green.....?

I have to say, our back grass is looking so much better than it did a couple of months ago during full lockdown when we had all the sun/warm weather.

It’s a long weekend here, and hot, hot, hot!! We were going to go to the mountains for a day trip but decided against it. It will be absolutely heaving with people so...nah. OH is taking a couple days off so might get a chance to go Wednesday. It will still be nice but not as hot, better for hiking anyway!
