Weather

What a difference a day makes. Today is cool, windy and overcast. The wind was so strong when the change hit overnight it blew our pool cover roller over and ripped the cover itself in half. Ouch $$$$ but we already said we would need a new one next year as it was starting to wear.
I was trying to tell Hubby that my Lab friends tell me that Australia was far too hot 🥵 but his Aus cycling (virtual) friends stopped their cycle ride early because they were too cold 🥶 (they were also trying to cycle 800 km in one go)

Hmmmm, they could have been in the snowy mountains or way down in Tasmania perhaps? It is a land of extremes I do admit!

@VanillaBean oh. my. goodness. 43 degrees. That's like sticking your head (and every other part) in an oven.
Kind of yeah, especially when we have the northerly winds, ie: from the dessert coming through. I always say to people who cant comprehend the heat and wind 'turn oven to max (especially fan assisted) then open door and you will kind of experience it'.

Good thing is we don't have the humidity cause that makes it worse...

@Lab_adore I'd love to have sympathy for your sweater-wearing...but I'm busy digging out of 2 feet of snow:cwl:

Shamas goes out and lifts his leg and pees right where he's standing.....in the snow where he's previously patrolled. He's not marking borders right now- he can't find them!

I think tomorrow I'll go shovel him some space to poop. It's up to his chest-bone out there, except where we stomped it down or shoveled.

Taking him for a walk was interesting- WE considered walking on the road, but he refused(that's where the cars come from) so we went on the sidewalk, but only two houses had a sidewalk. He looked SO confused when the sidewalk suddenly ended and the snow was nearly as high as him. Finally, after weighing his options-road, or snow- he jumped in, and plowed on through. we only walked about 200 feet before turning home because it's hard work wading through snow above your knees

Local news coverage of the snow The snow started at about 7pm Thursday, and when we woke up Friday morning it was about 30cm. By mid afternoon it was over the knees

The lower photos of back yards fairly accurately describes what we woke up to
