Weather

I completely feel fro the mums of kids in the weather we've been having. "Yes its snowing but no you can't go outside!" It's slippery and there isn't enough to build a snow man or a snow ball fight or any of the usual fun snow activities. Its just freezing cold, muddy and icy all at the same time.

It hasn’t gone above 1 degree today, with the wind it’s more like -3. It keeps trying to snow, but nothing coming of it. I would live 5ā€ of snow for a while!

I wouldn’t like driving in it as my car is a front wheel drive, but have lots of places I can walk which is good.
My car is also front wheel drive... I though that was better for snow rather than rear wheel drive? Oh I am confused and don’t understand cars!!

Unfortunately we have nothing in our village, no shop or anything. A bus once an hour, that’s about it. Our nearest shop is about 4/5 miles away.

This much snow and the length of this cold snap is unusual isn't it?
Not really. I remember when I was a child/much younger adult, most winters were snowy (and we had deep snow) and would last longer. I think we get more bizarre weather now - days of rain/gusting winds. Generally we have milder winters these days with the odd ā€˜Beast from the East’ weather as we have at the moment. Tomorrow night will be -6C which is highly unusual where I am in the east of England
