Weather

Meanwhile in Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands…..I live west, we didn’t have any rain. We are expecting high tide from the rivers as we live at the estuary of several rivers….

Currently we have an Air Quality Index of 10+, which is the highest it can get. It is so awful. I have healthy lungs, mainly, but I can get mild asthma occasionally. I feel this in my chest, a sense that I can’t catch a proper breath. It’s awful, like you are slowly being asphyxiated.
I can’t imagine how people who already have lung problems are coping. This is supposed to stick around for a few days….and although it’s cooler today at 22C, it’s heating again to the 30s next week. No air conditioning. So, open the Windows and you choke, keep them closed and you roast.
Here’s a couple pics from downtown Edmonton, which is where we are now.

It’s around 30 degrees again today. Harley and I drove to Plymouth today. We had the air con on all the way down. We stopped off at the services and sat on the grass under trees where she had a frozen filled bone. I wrapped it in foul and put it in the passenger footwell and it stayed frozen for over an hour and a half!
In Plymouth the temps are similar to at home. Both dogs pop outside for short periods to go in the padding pool, the come back in soon after. Walks for the next few days will be in the woods where there is water. Harley will be in her element!

It's unbearably hot today. Weather station reading 22.6 °C but I'm melting. I've got sweat coming from places I didn't know I had. Should have gone to the shore. The dogs are too hot too.

It’s too hot here too, although it’s now a bit overcast and 25C in the sitting room. The dogs have been happy enough to mooch around in the garden or just sleep in the coolest place, as it’s been far too hot to walk them.

It's been 26° here today and I must admit that I love it! Joy and I left the house at 7am, had a quiet and shady walk by the river, also a good swim and were home by 8.30. The garden is shady in the summer and there's been a nice breeze, so once all the camping preparation was done, we snoozed outside until it was time for tea. We're still outside now, me in my pyjamas, just watching the sunset. Might go in then, or might put some music on and stay out here a bit longer. It's so rare for us to be able to do this here! Feel almost like we're on holiday!:sun:🌴🏖
