What a perfect birthday! I’m so glad you and Flicka found each other xFlicka says thank you very much for your birthday wishes. She has had a good day, invited to the Old Rectory to run round their garden in the snow and then invited in for coffee. Had an hour's walk in the snowy fields and met her friends Connor the Greyhound and Sky, Tess and Fern the Yellow Labs and they had lovely snuffles around the fields. They don't play, do their own thing in a group which they enjoy, we often wonder what they talk about

Our heatwave broke overnight and today is quite cool with hazy rain. Maxx went nuts in the park and on the beach having come out of his heat-coma. He dug the biggest hole in the sand - I think he was tunneling to the UK

I read earlier that digging is great exercise for their shoulders, so really he was just doing a work out

We're having a bit of an issue with Ella digging. She's always loved to dig in the sand at the beach but never in our garden. Now we're in Perth and it's one giant sand dune. Cheeky Ella is digging in our backyardHe dug the biggest hole in the sand - I think he was tunneling to the UK

Ella must be in seventh heaven! I guess there's always raised beds if you want to grow anything that wants much soil. What an amazingly sandy area, that's an impressive amount of grass given the lack of anchorageThe entire garden is literally a sand pit

It's a little annoying because of the mess but the garden isn't great and we have plans to level and put a pool in soon so we'll just put up with Ella and her holes
