I think she gets just as muddy when we're at home in West Yorkshire, but the mud here in Nottinghamshire is paler and shows up more on her fur. She is having a Veryvery happy time , with walks in new places and more people to throw her precious ball, give her treats and make a fuss of her!

Its chucking it down with rain here , par for the course in Cornwall I`m afraid . I took the dogs for a short walk , never thinking that this particular trail is very close to a shooting estate, it was like WW3 , so many guns going off 
Nelly didnt hear them bless her but Reuben did , he ignored them at first but then as it accelerated , the fur all down his back stood up and for a few minutes he looked quite stressed/bewildered and at one point he ran ahead . I blasted on the whistle and thank goodness he turned and came straight back to me so he had much fuss . I decided to slip his lead back on to play safe and he walked so meekly by my side , good boy

We had fun playing a new game last night called Poetry for Neanderthals. It involved describing things using only one syllable words (“this thing live in sea and have eight legs and big soft head”) and getting bonked with the NO stick if you break the rules.
There is a very serious Degg family into how Leo (6) got carpet burns on his nose. They are just savages. You should see his cute little nose.

Human ish blond haired Harry potter looky likely. He's a devil so are the others. They've been running riot over the holiday. Mostly they've been outside but some sort of carpet incident seems to of occurred. This is way Degg children are usually kept outside.

OH's closest friend stayed over last night and both our little boys adore him. It was super cute.
When I was putting Rowan to bed he was doing his usual recap of his day. "Uncle Steve came here today. Inside my house. Now he's gone to his house."
"No, he's still here. He's sleeping in the office tonight."
Big eyes.
"Yes, you can have breakfast together tomorrow."
"Yes! But there's no more string." Solemn face.
"String?"
"String in the packet. I ate all."
Turns out he is concerned that there is no more kransekake for Steve's breakfast. Because clearly that's an optimal breakfast food. He calls them strings I guess because the individual pieces are long? Or possibly confused with rings?

I was having a sh!t of a day, I won't bore you, but then Steve came bounding up the stairs waving a package. 'I have a surprise!' he sang....it was my beautiful Labrador calendar!! I hadn't said anything but when it wasn't here when we got home from Lord Howe Island I convinced myself someone nicked it from the letterbox. Yay!
