What made you smile today?

Jelinga my OH just finished 5 months of injections into his eyes, he went fortnightly. He said once the drops are in you don't feel the injection thankfully. It was more the thought of it that than the actual injection. They are just keeping a check now every 6 weeks. Still can't get his sugar levels under 10/12 but better than the 26 it was to start with.

Not been my best day, had to have an Avastin injection in my eye in the hope of preventing me losing my sight ... BUT .. just came on here and saw the lovely Christmas banner, so that is my smile today x
The injections worked really well for my mother, so I hope the treatment is successful for you too.

Yes, the banner is very festive and makes me smile too!

Mine has had a couple, goes once a month, he wanted me to go in with him last time, nurse said no, then she said ok then, but don't faint! As if I would, it was quite fascinating. OH's is for wet Macular Degeneration though he does have high blood sugar, had that all his life! Have the injections helped your OH.

I hope the injections really help @FayRose

Yesterday I smiled when I was at lunch with my closest girlfriends and I took a special bottle of champagne and we had a big 'cheers' to my friend who has recently finished cancer treatment, her hair has grown back a tiny bit and she looked so well and happy. She has been single since her late twenties (she was 53 on Saturday) but met a nice fella about 9 months ago and he is lovely and really helped her through the dark days of her treatment. She found out about the breast cancer when they had only been dating about 3 months and he stuck around so definitely a keeper!!

:inlove:

So not a lot has made me smile this week, but then we received a certain Christmas card yesterday. We get one every year from Australia, from the same family, and we haven't got a clue who they are. I don't even think that the family they are writing to ever lived in this house.

This is the 8th card we've had, and it's always a similar beach scene. I hope one year they will write and say they've moved house and include their new address, and I can write back and say 'we don't know you, you don't know us, but thank you for the annual Christmas card'😀
