What made you smile today?

Hehe, the bed comment made me giggle; J and I went out to dinner with a couple of friends the other night; they drove us back afterwards. We had already said we wouldn't invite them in because with all the building work, the house is a complete state. Thank heavens we said that, because one of the memory foam beds had totally 'sploded. There wasn't an inch of living room floor that didn't have a bit of foam on it :cwl:

Heh, heh...that's great.

This is a belated smile from yesterday, but I finally screwed up the courage to contact one of my former clients about a billing from a year ago that they'd never paid. I went through a rough patch last year and just never noticed that I'd not gotten the transfer into my bank account. I was so embarrassed to ask about it a year later - and also thought they were well within bounds to say, "What? That was a year ago! We're not paying that!"

But at a friends suggestion, I send a carefully worded email and got an immediate answer about how sorry they were and how they'd deposit the funds immediately.

So yay! "Free" money as I surely thought it was a lost cause!

Surprise money is the best kind!

I had to get up to feed the baby, who was grizzling. My faithful furry companion had been sleeping half on top of me. On hearing the upset baby he stirred and licked my arm to make sure I was awake to help the poor bald puppy.

He then moved to lie on top of OH because he knew I would get up and disturb his beauty sleep.

Watching 'The big hospital experiment' on BBC2 made me smile. Not to do with the politics or anything, but seeing when 'the penny dropped' for some of the young volunteers made me remember when I realized that nursing was just absolutely for me and hearing the experienced qualified nurses' comments and observations about the volunteers has helped me to see in retrospect my own journey through my career and to see what a treasure and resource it was for me. I'm glad to be retired now, wouldn't go back even voluntarily, but I know I have been blessed with a happy and very satisfactory career, which makes me smile.
Pee Ess, massive spider just above where I eat my breakfast. Can't move it or look at it or hurt it! Just hope it's shuffled off or whatever they do by tomorrow. At least it won't be a poisonous one!
