What made you smile today?

I got a new lens for my camera and that's made me smile. I can't wait to get out and have a play with it. It's a second hand one so far cheaper than new, but in absolute mint condition; you can't tell it's even been used.
It's a total beast, mind. It weighs 2.3kg, not including the camera. That's not something that's going to be coming on a lot of long hikes with me ;)

I'm hoping to start putting together a collection of images to sell over time, so hopefully one day I might make enough from it to cover its cost. I'm not holding my breath, though!

So what does it do?

That's not a smart a*** comment by the way. I'm not camera savvy at all but I am interested in what the new lense can bring to your photography

It's a lot longer, meaning it can photograph things farther away. Essentially, good for capturing high quality photos of birds and wildlife that make you feel you're right up close to them :)

A rainy walk with Reuben this afternoon , bit of a shock to the system after all the lovely weather we have had . We pull up at the tiny car park for the woods , Reuben is squeaking with excitement behind the dog guard , I go to get Nelly out . She sticks her little nose out , sniffs the air and feels the rain , then very deliberately she climbs up onto Pauls knee with her back to me , what a statement :giggl:

This makes me feel so much about the quality of my photos. I can tell myself, "The only reason Fiona's photos are SO much better than mine is because she carries around lenses that weigh more than a decent-sized chihuahua. Nothing to do with hard work and talent, no, no..." 😏

Here are some more Louis photos from my friend Mimi in Nevada. She is in LURV. He's enjoying playing with his beloved toy Froggie. Froggie's first owner was Clare, Mimi's sweetheart American Eskimo and one of my first foster dogs who passed away at 18 years old last year. ❤

I saw a great quote the other day which made me smile: "Oh, what a lovely pen! I bet you can write wonderful stories with it!!"

That's a seriously cute kitty :)

Yeah, that lovely pen. Years ago a friend came to visit me when Brogan and I were living in Venice. He's a total travel cheapskate (didn't want to pay checked or carry on fees on Ryanair) and arrived with the clothes on his back, and a toothbrush and iPhone in his pocket. I was SCANDALIZED that he wouldn't at least bring a proper camera TO VENICE. He proceeded over the next three days to produce the most amazing photographs with just his mobile, even edited them in the darn thing. Shut me up but good! 😂

Lovely note left by my work colleague (More so my friend) as last night was her last shift before her maternity leave. 0F376AF5-EA68-49A5-8306-5E1313F8260D.jpeg

This note made me cry when I came in and read it this morning at 8am. She also cried last night when she said bye to me and hugged me (lots of tears were shed!). I’ll miss working with her but I’ll still go and see her and I can’t wait to meet her little boy once he’s born (She’s due end of November)❤

@Jen -- I so well remember that feeling of seeing my children at the end of a work day, or night, as was often the case then. So special, thanks for reminding me. Right now, I'm waiting for them to finally leave home........

@Sophiedoodle , what a lovely thing to find at the start of the day, very well deserved I'm sure, it's so lovely when people take time to show their appreciation, it goes a long way in life I believe.

So proud of Señor Carbon today during our six hour wait at the repair garage waiting for the TARDIS to get its wings. People coming and going past us all day and he got so many pets and compliments on how calm and patient he was being. He made laugh because he communicated very clearly that if we were going to have long waits like that and he wasn't allowed on my lap, at the very least I could remember his airplane pillow. The looks I got!

But what a good, good boy. @Candy 's GGJ, my señor is giving you a run for your money!
