What made you smile today?

He's so gorgeous Jen! Please don't worry too much about him not being able to visit Father Christmas this year. In my experience (Yes, once many years ago I was briefly him) children so young are often a bit confused and frightened by meeting him, whereas at about a year older they cope better and enjoy it far more.
Trevor was Santa once for the Fire Service children's Christmas party. It was before his son, Daniel was old enough to go, but both his daughters, Donna and Melanie were there. As he appeared a little girl shouted out 'That's not Santa, that's Donna's Daddy!' He said he felt like he'd fallen at the first hurdle!
Yeah I was a bit sad but I’ve gotten over it. Keeping safe is the most important thing.

A lot of the castles/stately homes near us are putting Christmas walks on in their gardens with lovely lights and stuff so I’ve booked a few of those for him to enjoy. And my group of friends are going to take all the kids for a walk around to look at all the lights people have put up because everyone seems to have gone all out this year.

And I know not everyone feels the same but I am really grateful we can spend Christmas with family. It’s just us, my mam and dad and my sister, her husband and niece getting together. My niece will be 3 months old and I’ve still never met her, so I’m really looking forward to giving her a cuddle 🥰

all cocky and confident until he suddenly cant see me for a nano second , then its like ` Where are you Mummy ? ` And he comes flying to me , bless x
:rofl:This makes me chuckle, 'cos so different to Cassie, who in a strange place is so busy investigating and checking out the likely game situation (I guess) that it's 5-10 minutes before she comes trotting up to me giving eye contact and a smiley tail wag as if saying "oh look, you're here too, isn't this nice?!"

,Many moons ago Paul was elected by his company to be FC at the childrens Christmas party . He arrived home about six hours later , staggered out of the car still in ` unform ` , looking absolutely frazzled , came in, chucked the sack on the floor and said ` Yo Ho fxxxing Ho ` . It took ages for him to recover from the experience
:cwl:This reminds of a few years back our neighbours got a colleague to dress up as Santa for their little girls. It was a windy day and no one could understand why this red clad figure was walking round and round the houses getiing ever faster it seemed, eventually it became clear that, in his words he'd "lost the f*****g beard" !!

I can't quite remember the outcome, but the beard was found by the resident GSD the next day!!

For many many years my uncle played FX (short for not the real father Christmas) for quite a big charity event Christmas Party. My cousins often acted out the part of the Christmas fairy who handed out sweets while Father Christmas handed out present. Then one year it was my turn. My uncle took me round and showed me exactly what to bo but told me it wouldn’t be him on the night. So I did my whole little magical performance in a sparkling tutu and wand. Later that night my cousins told me that it really was my uncle acting FX. He had been acting the role right next to me all night and I didn’t have a clue, but he made sure he was there to take care of me.

Funny, my dad is just about to collect a labrador pup in the next couple of weeks and it has been named Blue - he is deciding whether to keep the name. I like it, though have never met another one. It makes me think of cattle dogs, not labradors!
I met a lovely Collie called Blue, thought it a super name, but it is getting more common now. My farmer calls his one year old pup Sky.

Just to add - Stanley hasn’t even looked at the tree this year.

It’s things like that that let you see how far you’ve come.
Chewie would also be trustworthy with a tree now. Rowan not so much. I considered one of those felt trees that you stick on the wall but meh
