Sitting very quietly now by the fire, no more wine tonight, snoring Labrador to my right, television off, listening to Howard Goodall's 'Enchanted Carols'. Quite simply bliss, and such a lovely Advent moment. Makes me smile.

All finished and bed time now. Hot water bottles already in, cup of herbal tea to take up with me. Plus a small and snoozy Labrador.

She maybe is a little but she gets plenty of cuddles and love and she knows she’ll get me back all to herself (a Lilly of course) soon! X

After a chilly walk , I came home got warm and have just spent a happy hour writing Christmas cards and listening to Carols from Kings on the Alexa , always makes me feel nostalgic for times past when my children were small . We would regularly host Christmas lunch at our home in the Peak District for all the family, often 16-20 of us , wonderful chaos it was too xx

Aldi middle aisle got me like

This afternoon we hid a few treats around the house for Holly. OH put one at the back of the sofa on top of a cushion. It caused Holly a lot of stress as she knows she's not allowed on the furniture but she also knew that there was a treat up there. We could see the conflict. In the end I relented and told her to get it, but she was still reluctant. In the end she lunged for it with her front paws on the sofa and immediately jumped off.

We were both very proud of her for being so good, but made a note never to test her like that again.

I bought Kipper a new sheepskin tug toy, a stuffed toy otter and a new Zogoflex treat toy
Also I got Jambo and Zorro Zogoflex treat toys (lucky boys! They might be with us for Christmas Day) and I’m making tug toys for my sister’s 3 labs... need to get sewing!

Pee ess: for Christmas a certain dog is getting a snuffle mat, a rope toy, a huge squeaky sloth and some treats.
