What made you smile today?

This demonstrates Monty's zero prey drive 😂. I spotted a small deer on our walk today, really surprising as it was early afternoon, quite a few people around, and as you can hear from the ice cream van, in suburbia.

It crossed quite close in front of me, and I just managed to grab my phone as it ran away from me, in front of Monty's path. Who just stands there looking a bit gormless then resumes sniffing 😂

Hope you can see it, it's very quick, I really thought it was a skinny tan coloured dog at first.

:)

It's interesting though, I would definitely say Cassie is a high prey drive dog, but she has almost zero interest in deer, one crossed our path yesterday very close and she just looked at it, and very rarely does she bother to chase a squirrel. Sometimes even rabbits -- she'd much rather look for them in the brambles.

Should a pheasant or a hare cross her path, or even be close by, then it's a very different story.

I'm not sure Monty even believed his eyes. He did flush out a cat on the way there, they went nose to nose in a bush and I don't know who was most shocked. 😂
Bear would have been straight after it though. The cat and the deer.
He got fixated on a blue tit in training class two weeks ago and even squeeezy cheese could barely compete 🤦🏼‍♀️

Yeah @Natalie when Cassie was Bears age she was super over aroused by all the scents etc on our walks, when I was having all that trouble with her. I only said to my son today that it is as though now, at 5, she's whittled it all down to what really floats her boat.

@Natalie, it looked like a Muntjac, there seem to be a lot around lately. Rourke did start to chase one that suddenly dashed out of bramble bush about 3 feet in front of him, I shouted 'leave' and he did! The Greyhound I used to walk with, chases them like mad. The first time I saw a Muntjac, I thought it was a dog! The second time I was on a shoot and saw two and initially I thought they were badly behaved dogs!

Who gets bored first? 😊
Have you refitted your lounge? I remember you having new settees which Stanley wasn't allowed on, but the room looks bigger.
Me! 🤣

We did it last year when we got the couch to make more room for play. It is a pretty big room though. As you can see Stanley not being on the couch didn’t last long (ignore the mess - a toddler in isolation does not make for a tidy home).
