@Shamas mom, well done at the progress you are making, you must feel very pleased.
We had our first wee in the potty he other day. Much excitement. Rowan is still ambivalent about it so we aren't pushing. Going to do it the lazy way and hopefully one day he will just want to do all his wees in the potty. That's the plan anyway.Me and my mam talking about potty training - getting ready to start with Rory, think he’s ready now.
I said I’m just going to put him on the potty every half an hour and reward him if he does a wee or a poo. She was like I’ve never heard that method before, did you read that?
Me: ermmmm well that was how I toilet trained Stanley and it worked sooo…![]()
This is what I'm hoping for.Nathan toilet trained himself. One day he walk out, went to the toilet and announced that he wouldn't be wearing nappies anymore. He had less than a handful of accidents ever.
Somehow I don't think we'll get that lucky with Jackson![]()
Nath was 2.5yrs.This is what I'm hoping for.How old was Nathan? My main concern with Rowan is that he is too busy to remember to go.
What a champ! I'm trying to be patient here. Haha. Rowan is a kid who doesn't respond well to pushing. I guess they have so little control over their lives at this age I can't blame him. Will be nice when nappies are a thing of the past though.Nath was 2.5yrs.
My little grandson finally became toilet trained in January - he’ll be 4 in May…..so he was quite late - all the other grandchildren have been much much earlier. However, his parents were not unduly concerned (I had visions of him going to school this September still in nappies!). He’s their 4th child and he has shown consistently that he will do everything when he is ready and not before. He literally went from nappies one day to clean and dry the nextI'm trying to be patient here
Rory is the complete opposite and has to be pushed to do anything otherwise he’d never do it. Still hands his spoon over when he’s eating like you feed meRowan is a kid who doesn't respond well to pushing.
We haven't had this since Rowan was about 9 months old (except when sick)! I love how kids all gave their own personalities that really shine through even at such a young age. Though having such an independent toddler certainly has its drawbacks when it comes to efficiency.Still hands his spoon over when he’s eating like you feed me![]()
I wouldn't risk it if they were collared, but the headcollar makes Angel manageable....it's the only thing that does. Without it, I have to have my full attention on her and be in training mode. With her 75-80lbs, and Shamas' 87, I'm outweighed at this point...so they MUST be well behaved for me to walk them both. Else you'd be watching them drag me down the road!@Shamas mom Well done! I take my hat off to you, walking both dogs together. I have only dared walk Coco & Meg together on a 150 yard stretch from the car to a field gate. I certainly couldn't manage if we were to meet another dog. I walk them one after the other usually.
That’s why I mention it really - go with your gut feeling. I think first time parents (and remember I was one many moons ago - she’s now 45that is my gut feeling of how things will go for us
