I went to Tamworth castle which is enough to make me smile but they had some of the Staffordshire Hoard there too. I was grinning like a fool, love that stuff.

My little grandson starts school today. I’ve just received photos of him and his 3 older sisters (all now at secondary school). Bought a huge smile to my face 
This happened yesterday but I'm a proud mum. Rowan and I were in the lift at daycare and a much bigger kid was annoying his baby brother. The dad told him to stop and he kept going. Rowan was watching all this and walked over to this kid and calmly, gently put his hand on his shoulder and said "No. Stop it."
The kids dad was very impressed. R has never liked kids being rough or pushy and usually hangs back when stuff like that happens. He's boisterous as, but actually quite gentle.

Thanks so much to you Mags for doing that. I'm having the most wonderful time, but Internet connection is really sporadic and I have found WhatsApp seems to be the most consistently reliable method of communication, although even that doesn't always work. GGJ's lovely dog sitter sends me updates with photos and videos daily, although they can take a while to arrive, but Joy is very clearly having a really good time, she looks relaxed, waggy and happy and I am so pleased to have found such a good dog sitter just around the corner. Seeing Cappadocia (Well spotted there @Atemas) is a dream come true after nearly thirty years and didn't disappoint. I am with a group of people who are on the whole lovely and very like minded and I feel like I am making some good new friends. This is an entirely new holiday experience for me, also one that I think I would be very happy to repeat, so what with that and a lovely dog sitter who Joy is clearly happy and settled with , the future looks bright for more adventures! I'm going to try to post you a couple of photos from today now. If that doesn't work, you'll have to wait until I get home! Lovely to be able to talk to you all again .Such an emotional time. I remember it well
I‘ve had a message from @Candy. She’s having a wonderful time in Turkey. No wifi, so she asked me to share these amazing photos. It’s a road trip so she’s on the move a lot. But she‘s thinking of us. (and GGJ, of course)
