Years ago we went to the south of France by coach and almost everyone craned their necks every time we passed a dog, we all missed our dogs so much!
Letting tourists pet my dog (Carbon and previously Brogan) is one of the things I ALWAYS have time for and enjoy. Carbon isn't the people-dog that Brogan was - he only puts up with it until he figures out that they have no treats, then he gets bored and acts like they're not there, which is a little embarrassing. However I have hope and can see him turning into more of a people-dog as he gets older.

But oh, Brogan. That was his favourite thing in the world. He was happy just riding a vaporetto with no destination and sucking people into his orbit, and with the high ratio of tourists there, he was almost guaranteed some dog-starved tourist would fawn over him. Ditto for walking along the Danube here in Regensburg where the cruise ships dock - guaranteed tourist love. Or when he got older, just sitting in the middle of a piazza somewhere in Italy and letting people come to him and take photos with him.

I always said traveling with Brogan was like being George Clooney's assistant: you just sat back and watched the magic happen without anyone taking note of the lowly minder (me) standing off to the side.

We caught up with some friends visiting from London, and met their daughter for the first time. She is two and she and Rowan are little demons together.:giggl: They got along so well but also got up to so much mischief, egging one another in the whole time.

She was super confident around Chewie, almost too confident! Within about a minute she was hand feeding him strawberries and she basically stuck her hand in his mouth. Thankfully he is an absolute star with kids. Wish I could say the same about adults... Much humping of the adults while he carefully, gently navigated the kids.

Nadine and Fine came over for our weekly pub night yesterday. She sits in my normal spot on the sofa. Carbon insisted on very gently climbing up and getting into cuddle position. I trained him to do this as I find it comforting, but I always thought he did it because of ‘cuddle cue’ not because he really liked it.

Turns out he really does like it. 🥰❤🥰

All dogs my have slept like this. It's really cosy.
I love it and started with my big Rottie Duncan - he covered my whole body and I used to use his head as a book rest. It helped so much with back pain and just felt so cosy , like you say. Brogan wouldn’t do it for love or money - not a cuddler. So I was thrilled when Carbon started catching on, but it did feel like I was making him do it. I was so tickled when he insisted on climbing up on Nadine yesterday despite her complaining about how big he is - she’s used to chihuahua cuddles! 😂
