What made you smile today?

@SwampDonkey, what a gorgeous puppy. However, Springers/Cockers are so very lively, never sit still.
She comes to the whistle already and is learning to walk happily on her lead. She's a friend of mines and she's so sweet. She'll be going shooting and beating when she's old enough. Her owners have another Springer and 2 working cockers. They also breed them. The love bouncy spanners.

My neighbours came out for a chat as GGJ and I arrived back from our morning walk. Apparently there's a new puppy a few doors along from us, a Collie/GSD cross who is currently being carried around by her owners to look at things as she's too young to go on the ground at present. They have seen Joy and Loki playing outside and asked my neighbours if they could bring their little one to start socialising once she's old enough. My neighbours said that they'd check with me, which of course I was pleased about, but they also passed on to the new puppy owners the copy of 'Easy Peasy Puppy Squeezy ' that I gave them when Loki was tiny and new to them, telling them that they should read this if they wanted their pup to be as gentle as Joy and Loki! I was quite moved by this, hadn't realised how much they had followed the book, just thought they'd done a really good job with him and they have always attributed his sweet nature to Joy's influence. It's really made me smile to think how much they've taken on board and how they're trying to pass good practice on. If we go on like this, every new pup in the street will grow up to be a gentle dog!
