What made you smile today?

I had to smile yesterday. I walked Red and met a lady who I occasionally saw when living in the other village. I said ‘We’re here now‘ and she said ‘Yes I’d heard Red had come to live here’ . Guess we are all known by our dogs

Kate, you must be thrilled with the painting, it makes me smile and also a little weep as I think of them missing each other now, but what incredible joy they had together and the painting shows that so clearly

Yes, Reuben and Carbon are so very close , when we meet at the beach , they will run to one another with absolute joy x Last week we went to the beach , Reuben just kept casting around for his pal , running to every distant black dog , it was very touching x

This made me smile when the postlady delivered it this morning . Mags painted this of Reuben and Carbon playing in the waves at Harlyn Bay recently , we love it and just in time for my 77th birthday on Sunday too ! xxx

My happy thing for the day (for very many days n fact) is that my immigration situation has finally made a lurch forward. It will still be months before anything is permanently resolved or before I can apply for German citizenship (my end goal), but we have been stuck for SIX YEARS in an endless Groundhog Day. Today they resolved a sticky legal issue and next Tuesday we (Carbón and I ) go in for fingerprinting. Paw-printing?

It’s still a long road ahead - at least another year until I can hope for my German passport - but it’s a relief to have moved forward.

It was only the house number but the post lady wouldnt give it to me until she had spoken to the lady next door to ensure that the parcel wasnt hers but the neighbour was on holiday so the parcel went back to the depot for a week or so , but eventually they delivered it to me thank goodness xxxx
