    Snowie

Yesterday my friend said to me, “I’m saying this as your friend: You need to talk to your vet about Snowie.” Meaning, it’s Snowie’s time. I was so upset but I avoided being defensive because I felt I needed to hear someone else’s perspective. She said, “He’s looking heavy when he walks. Not...

    Poppy

I’m so sorry to read this about darling Poppy. I know how heartbreaking it is. I’m so glad things are looking better. How was Merlin with the extra meds? He probably felt wonderful! 😁

    Tummy problems

Glad she drank some water. They do make you worry! I find chicken broth is a sure way to encourage fluid intake. Shred some roast chicken and pour over boiling water. Let cool. Others find some tuna in water is helpful.

    "Queen" Lilly ❤️ 15 years

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I, too, don’t post much of Snowie cos it’s mostly about worrying about this or that. But the other night he was dreaming and his tail was wagging. ❤️ Snowie’s brother died in his sleep earlier this year (heart failure). It was a gift to his owner; she...

The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

What a relief! I only saw your new update now, read from start to finish with my heart in my mouth. So so so pleased it was all over with with only one tooth gone. Poor Carbon, he’s had his fair share of health issues. And yet he is the most joyful of dogs. And in great health nevertheless. And...

Maxx attacked by a pug on wheels

I’m sorry to read this. Big dogs always have to just put up with nasty little dogs. Interestingly, where I live, pugs are absolutely lovely. They are considered the easiest of dogs. The receptionist at our vet just bred a litter of pugs. She kept back a pup. Here is the pup wanting to say...

Oh my word, what a beautiful tribute to your darling Harvey. And how thoughtful of you to share biscuits with future patients. ❤️

    Red has a lump

I totally understand. My heart sinks every time, too. And every time it’s been nothing thankfully. I hope the same with Red.

    Red has a lump

Snowie had one on his side. I’ve been feeling it for about a year. Vet wasn’t concerned. But in the past week or two it has got quite a bit bigger and is now noticeable when just looking at him. It’s moveable. We have a standing monthly vet appointment (Cytopoint injection), so we’ll ask him...

    Mr Stanley Blue

    He’s a big boy! I’m guessing by 2 years old he’ll weigh about 34kg?

    Weird lump

We’re all counting down with you! 😅 With Snowie’s eyelid stitches, the vet actually said they needed to be removed to speed up the healing. She said leaving them in too long slowed down the healing process. They were dissolvable, but she preferred to take them out. I wish I could remember the...

    Weird lump

Aw man he is adorable. ❤️ Could you not put a bandage over his paw so he can’t scratch the stitches? When Snowie had stitches on his eyelid, the vet made a “boxing glove” over his paw to prevent him pulling the stitches out. No cone was worn.

    Mr Stanley Blue

I was told they grow taller until 10 months. Then they start filling out and get wider until 2 years, which is when they reach their adult size.

    Weird lump

What a lovely message from the vet! I love it: tail is wide awake! ❤️ But of course, his personality will always shine through. ❤️
