    Beautiful Bella

Bella Boo didn’t have a great day today. She started out full of beans but as I was getting them ready for our morning walk, she became very distressed, spinning to reach her bum, which was still in its overnight nappy. I got her outside to remove it and she’d just had a little bit of a squit...

    Beautiful Bella

Several small soft-whip :poo: this morning. Nowhere near the volume I’d normally expect but at least something is moving and the laxative is doing its job. She does look a little worried while pooing, bless her, but I’m not really surprised, given everything. And other than that, she’s her...

    Beautiful Bella

She’s been much better today thanks. She was struggling to poo on this morning’s walk, and I didn’t see her poo this evening, so I’ll keep a close eye on that. She has laxatives to take for the next two weeks, so hopefully they’ll do their work to get her a bit squittier and more comfortable...

    Lump on face

Oh Emily, I'm so sorry for your worry for your gorgeous girl. You did everything right, the only person who might possibly think otherwise is you. And, sorry, but you're wrong. Lots of positive healing thoughts for Ella, and hoping you get negative results back really quickly.

    Beautiful Bella

Yes, I was really very worried after the vet said it was a complicated surgery. Earlier this morning, I even found myself bargaining with her old dead owner to let me have a little more time with her  I wasn't expecting her to be out of surgery so soon, so I was terrified answering...

Surgery went well! What a relief! They'll call later to pick her up, 5:30-6pm ish

    Beautiful Bella

Not a good day for Bella. It's raining hard. Bella. Does. Not. Like. Rain. Had to wear a jacket. No treats on our walk (but did get to play with a boll which isn't too bad, spose) NO BREAKFAST WTF?!?!?! Had to have a shampoo and set at the back end. How undignified. And then ABANDONED at the...

Just catching up and that does look sore, poor girl! I hope you get it sorted and she's back to her normal lumpless beauty soon!

    We need a poo!

Oh that’s so worrying, I hope you a smooth few hours until you can get him seen.

    Beautiful Bella

I dunno, she certainly squealed when it happened, and does if the nappy sticks to it, or even if I get too close when I'm showering her. I think that part has plenty of nerves, unfortunately, and she's just a stoic little thing, like them all - even if she is a total drama queen about some things!

    Beautiful Bella

That should have read "gundogs". Stupid autocorrect! I think it bothers me more than it does her! It was really horrid last night and I texted the vet to see if it was an emergency. I'm really worried about infection, so keeping it as clean as possible, using ProShield as a barrier and keeping...

    Beautiful Bella

Actually had a horrible time tonight. There was a dog barking somewhere close by, all the gunfire ran outside and Bella squeaked and ran back. She was just outside the door at the time, the only thing that could have happened was one of the others brushing past her. But her prolapse was...

    Beautiful Bella

Thanks everyone. If you’re not faint hearted, the hidden image below is from this morning’s walk. She’s poopy because she’s a little soft at the moment so wearing her night time nappy gets messy, and I shower her when we get back from the walk, because if I do it before she needs showering twice...

    Beautiful Bella

It's not a fix for her incontinence, that's a far more profound problem. This is to hopefully fix the prolapse and keep her insides where they belong - on the inside! From what I can gather, there are two options: one is that everything is (very carefully) manipulated back inside where it...

    Beautiful Bella

Oh, the update on the laser was that it worked phenomenally, and she's back to her normal crazy self again! Every now and again she gets the crazies on a walk, and for no reason starts chasing absolutely nothing, squeaking in excitement as she zips back and forth. It's not zoomies like I've...

    Beautiful Bella

Bella is going for surgery on Wednesday. After trying to manage her sore bottom for ages now, we (two vets and me) have decided that there's no other option than to try to fix it with surgery. The problem is that she has a prolapse: some of the tissue that should be inside her bottom is outside...

    Dodgy guts

Hope he gets better soon. Hopefully this will make you smile on the same topic. Bella spaniel is a little soft at the moment for some reason (probably the sneaky mouthfuls of chicken poo she chomps when we walk past the peach groves...). As she has some faecal incontinence issues, you can...
