    Inconsistent reaction

@Kelsey , @Selina27, @Candy thank you I feel a lot happier that it’s not the start of a slippery slope having read your experiences and suggestions. In fact it reminded me Murphy my first lab went through a phase of reacting to certain people particularly men and he loved everybody and...

    Inconsistent reaction

@HAH thank you very much for the advice I really appreciate it and it’s good to know you’ve been through something similar with Stilton. I guess because Scott and Scout were so reactive I was worried Hunter might be going the same way although Scott and Scout were reactive at a much younger age...

    Inconsistent reaction

Hunter is now ten months old and definitely showing signs of being a teenager however it’s his reaction to people that’s confusing me and worrying me a bit if I’m honest after my experience with Scott and Scout. Hunter has always been a bit wary of SOME people reaching out to stroke him and...

    Tick meds and diarrhea

I agree with @MellowYellow. It doesn’t sound like Hugo is feeling ill or has a temperature if he’s asking for food and racing round at 3am but as he’s had it for a few days (sorry I can’t work out the time difference and which day your on) I think it would be worth a trip to your normal vet. It...

    Tick meds and diarrhea

@Kelsey you’ve just described me. I always start to panic and usually end up at the vets. I can guess exactly how your feeling especially at night. It sounds from your description like Hugo might have colitis. The white gloopy mucus lining is common with colitis as you probably know along with...

    Tick meds and diarrhea

Just remembered something the vet told me. Soaking the kibble means the digestive system doesn’t have to work as hard to digest it so easier on an upset stomach. Same applies to wet food. Hopefully Hugo is much better today and I’m too late replying to this thread :fingers:

    Tick meds and diarrhea

@Kelsey I tend to feed my dogs their kibble when they have an upset tummy I just reduce the amount and maybe soak it to get more liquid into them. Like Hugo my previous dogs were very sensitive to change in their diet plus the food was hypoallergenic. If they had a very bad stomach which needed...

    Homer being sick

@JES72 your method of Homer standing front legs on a stool to eat sounds easier than those chairs. I’m sorry if my post repeated things you’d already discussed on the thread. It is a coincidence that Homer has two of the MG symptoms but it could be his arthritis. Hopefully he will improve after...

    Homer being sick

@JES72 When you mentioned neurological in your post it got me thinking. Has your vet mentioned Myasthenia Gravis ? When Scout developed GOLP I did a lot of reading up about it which included megaesophagus and myasthenia gravis. GOLP is a neurological disease and usually accompanied with hind leg...

    Unwell or foreign body?

I always go to worse case scenario with my dog too Kelsey then try and talk myself down and night time is always worse:wasntme: I’ve been thinking and googled rhinitis in dogs as Hugo obviously has irritation which could be the mucus membrane of his nose Possibly caused by a foreign body which...

    Nelly is quite poorly

@kateincornwall I've just read about Nelly Kate. I’m so sorry she’s not well. I hope she’s feeling a bit better today now the meds have had a bit of time to work and fancies some food

    Unwell or foreign body?

Oh gosh Kelsey. As you know I completely sympathise with your worry and PTSD I’d be the same. We need to put our logical heads on which is much easier when it’s not your dog so I’ll try. The vet is obviously not overly concerned or they’d have investigated up Hugo’s nose sooner. It is most...

    Wispa's not well

I am so sorry @Granca to read the news about Wispa. It’s such a sad time for you and all your family. Wispa couldn’t have asked for a better loving family. You gave her a fantastic life and you did the most loving thing you could in the end. I hope soon the memories of Wispa will make you smile...

    Reactivity post spay

I didn’t have any plans to get Scott and Scout castrated anyway but my vet did tell me not to because they were so nervous. Testosterone was the only thing giving them any kind of bravery if I took that away they’d be worse. Like you I also read the same advice while researching how to deal with...

    Wispa's not well

I’m so sorry the vet couldn’t find what was wrong with poor Wispa. A few years ago my cousins dog was ill. Some similar symptoms to Wispa. Off his food, lethargic. He had all the tests like Wispa. A few days after my cousin had paid for more X-rays with no results he started improving and was...
