Doggy brags

On one of our walks, part of the path takes us alongside a creek. The path is up high and there's a really steep hillside with dense bush in between the path and the creek so it's basically inaccessible.

Today, as we walked along, Ella suddenly disappeared down the hillside. There was a really narrow track in the hillside (likely created by an animal) and Ella was running full speed towards the creek. As a rule, I don't attempt to recall Ella in this type of situation as history has taught me that water usually wins and I don't want to ruin my recall (I'm usually really careful not to end up in a situation like this so I'm quite mad at myself πŸ™„). But, with all of the rain we had overnight, the creek was muddy and racing with bits of debris and a steep muddy drop into the water so it just looked really dangerous. So I called her and wow, she spun around on the spot and raced straight back up the hill to me!!! Wowee!! What a clever girl ❀❀

I gave up half a treat bag and a big game of tug in return. She seemed pretty pleased with her payment 😁

Shamas just sat and ignored the barky yellow lab :)

Normally we have to avoid having the two dogs on the same block, but I was waiting to cross to home and she came towards us. He boy started barking and jumping in our direction, ignoring her..he was finally pulled away by the halti still trying to get to Shamas.

He did make a couple of half-hearted barky growls at a dog coming our way early on the walk, but I told him no and he stopped.

Well chuffed with Reuben this afternoon . Several days ago , I took just him for a walk, its a woody trail which has a stream running through , eventually joining the river Fowey . It was chucking it down with rain so I was throwing balls around for him to retrieve , many into the stream . All going well until his ball got stuck under a partly submerged log in the water, he tried and tried but couldnt get at it , so we returned empty handed . Today I donned wellies and off we set again and drawing close to the spot , I sent him ahead saying my usual Find It . Bless my great lumpador , he went straight to the stream, straight to the log and once more began frantically digging under the water . I got in ( at the point remembering that my wellies leak ! ) and joined him , both of us digging away until his precious ball finally popped out . Oh what joy on his face , a reward for remembering where he had last seen it , I tramped back to the car , soggy feet and all but his happy face just made me so proud and full of love xx
