Doggy brags

So very proud of Reuben , he hasnt done anything spectacular , more a case of quiet acceptance . It has been very cold down here , our village never sees a gritter so the lanes are lethal with black ice in the mornings . As a consequence , I havent done our usual morning walk , its just too risky to even walk round the village with him because I would go down like a sack of spuds for sure  He has been a star , no mithering or looking at the porch where he lead hangs , he has just accepted it making do with a few ball chucks in the garden and then hunkering down until the afternoon deems it safe to venture out . Dare I say that he has acted in a mature way ?:fingers: Hmm , that bouncy boy is still in there but under lock and key for the moment , oh how I love him xx

Homer and I went to Mantrailing today, first session back since I can't actually remember when. Homer received his level one certificate! He did some great trails today and really stopped to think at the junctions, after dragging me through the brambles as usual. Both he and I have spent the rest of the afternoon on the sofa!

I am so proud of Reuben, he hasnt actually done anything spectacular , in fact nothing to really warrant a brag except that he has been a star during my reduced walks . He is used to going for miles every afternoon , 2, 3 , 4 or even 5 at times but has had to put up with a maximum of 20/30 minutes for what seems like ages now and has just accepted it all as being whats happening . He has been going with Anna two days a week over the past four weeks or so , where he gets a good old play , long walk etc . but honestly , he has been a star . I`ve been playing in the garden with him a lot more , hiding balls for him and retrieving as we do on our short walks , he has been lovely ( and so has Nelly ) x

Another Homer brag. We went mantrailing in an area near an army barracks with very loud shooting going on. Previously I had to take him home because he wasn’t coping. Homer did quite a long tail while there was shooting, he wasn’t bothered at all just kept his nose to the trail and was super pleased with himself when he found the ‘missing’ person. He waited between trails with me in the car but wasn’t bothered much at all by some quite loud noises.

Today , when we pulled into the little woodland car park , there was a vehicle with a horse box on the back , two ladies trying hard to persuade their most beautiful pony to enter the horse box, but he had other ideas  We sat in the car for a few minutes as I didnt want to dogs to spook the pony but one of the ladies said please dont wait for us we may be here for some time , he never wants to go home :giggl: I got Nelly out , then Reuben out of the back but kept his lead on , he stood and looked at the pony for a couple of moments , no adverse reaction at all and then looked at me as if to say, Why arent you taking my lead off Mum ? So with some trepidation I let him go whereupon he set off on the trail without even a backwards glance at the pony , good lad Reubs x
