She really is. She’s getting more responsive this year in lots of little ways. I was so impressed with her yesterday. On our lunchtime walk I stopped to speak to 3 people. She just sat and waited patiently. I was taliking to one couple for 15 minutes and you wouldn’t have known she was there. They said some lovely things about her as we said goodbye ❤

This is barely a brag, as Bear hasn't actually done anything today 😊 but those of you who know about Bear will see this is pretty good thing.

OH and I had a late and moderately boozy night watching the football. Then I had one of those shocking nights where your mind is racing and sleep is impossible.
So we are not on top form today. We slept in till 8.30 then have had a lazy lie in watching old episodes of Auf Wiedersehen Pet and eating brunch in bed and left over sweet and sour chicken balls 😉.

Bear has done nothing! He's accepted our lie in with good grace and taken it easy himself, stretching out on the bed and draping himself over other furniture looking dashing 😎. He's had some gravy bones and a lot of fuss and has generally been a very chilled, relaxed dog. And caught up on some lost sleep from Friday when he barely slept after his vet visit. He's cleaned Monty's teeth for him but mostly left him alone.

OH is about to take him for a long walk shortly. Good boy Bear 😍

I'm thrilled with Primrose this morning - we met up with their friend, 8 month old lab Duke and they had been playing and then we were heading for home. Duke wasn't listening and another friend, 7 month old Airedale terrier was coming along and Duke and him went running quite far off down the field, out of sight. Primrose went a little ways with them, stopped, sat down and watched them, then came running back to me. I don't know if it's training or age but I'll take it!

That's so good! It was around 5 and a half months we took our eye off the ball a bit with Bear's training, and then we paid the price once he hit adolescence... Sounds like everything you are doing will hopefully avoid that 🤞

You may well remember Ghillie - a dog who was brought back to us with resource guarding issues. Well, he also absolutely HATED being groomed and we would end up having to get him sedated to clip him.
He has been with us a year now, and over that time I have been building up trust with him and he now trusts me most out of everyone around him.
Today…. We have just clipped him for the first time without the need of sedation!!! We only had to put the muzzle on him for a total of 5 minutes to do around his *boy parts*, but 5 minutes out of 2.5 hours is bloody damn good!!
I am so super duper proud of this boy!!! ❤❤❤AD9B7A54-5EC5-47EE-82AA-E5C971E26873.jpegA73EB417-81F6-4ED4-93D5-F612566FEB6F.jpeg

He will appreciate being a bit cooler now!

Not my brag. Today on our morning walk coming towards us off lead was a young, just on a year old golden retriever lock down puppy that we've seen grow up from a wiggly bundle of fluff. The man gave him a stop command, the pup stopped like a dressage horse, then sat on command, the man popped him his lead and asked him to walk to heal which the pup did beautifully and was rewarded with treats. The pup had that little glint of "Yeh Dad I can show off when I want to" Not all lock down pups are wayward and untrained.
