Wow, it’s so gorgeous. I love the way the village is huddled between the beach and the outcrop…has it ever gotten flooded?
There seems to have been a massive North Sea Storm in 1953 which washed away many of the huts and wooden structures, but this was a huge storm, killing many along the coastal areas, not just in Scotland, but I see mentions of The Netherlands also.
Interestingly these fishing village build their houses gable end on to help protect the structures against the weather.
I can imagine they get a fair battering during spring tides, but you know, it is amazing how these harbours are relatively sheltered. We felt the for sure at Cullykhan bay yesterday.

Looks so desolate. Was anyone else about?
Its quiet right now. A bit off season. Also the road up here is technically closed right now for roadworks which I think might be reducing footfall too.

It was bright yet windy today.
We took a trip to Banff and had a lovely scarifying walk on the beach, followed by a walk around town and past the harbour, fitting in a little Geocaching. There were repairs being done on the harbour wall, with quite a sophisticated set up enabling draining part of the harbour.

Absolutely beautiful photos (including the four of you). I especially love windswept Oreo.

I keep telling OH how much I loved Scotland when I visited, just for a few days. Hint hint for when we can travel long haul again. (Who knows when that will be with our kiddo?!)
