Harleys arthritis

POO PHOTO ALERT!

Harley has had a better 24 hours and is now eating better. We managed a very slow 20 minute walk around the block which was great.
I am still concerned that she has diarrhoea after 6 days. Last night and this morning the blood is no longer bright red and I’m not sure if I need to be concerned or not. I’ve got sample pots from my vet yesterday so am trying to catch her in the act. My vets are closed today until Tuesday. What are your thoughts?

I would take her to an emergency vet if possible or at least send them a photo of this. It's 6 days now and although she's eating she not improved greatly. It's not going to go on its own if it's been this long and when I get to this stage with Rory it only clears up with anti biotics.

After 6 days and, still this I would also ring the emergency vet. Hunter had something very similar to this but the poop got OK after 3 days. Does her wee also have blood in it? Hunter was also given antibiotics and food to help try settle his stomach.
So sorry you are going through this but good news she is eating  :thelambiesarecoming:

I would try and get her to eat pumpkin and pasta, just a little bit. Is she drinking? Let her do her own thing sleep or go for a slow walk.
When Fred had blood in his poo, he had more than your photo

Just to recap @Naya Has your vet given her anything to help her?
She’s still refused the pumpkin but had some pasta.
the vet gave us esomezaprole and prokolin.

No blood in her wee.

I phoned the out of hours vets and sent the photo. They are happy that she is eating and drinking. They said that if she has more stools like this to try and capture them before they hit the grass and give them another call. I told them I was worried that it was salmonella and they said it’s possible and that it will work its way out.
I think because it’s New Year’s Eve they don’t want to see anyone unless it’s an absolute emergency.

If it is Salmonella it will work its way out. However, I am not sure it is, more colitis and a bug from the photo.

Harley is clearly feeling better. She was demanding breakfast at 7.30am. Her poo isn’t pure liquid, but is no where near formed. No more blood either which is great. She has had 2 short walks today too . She is staying on a bland diet for a few more days and we will slowly transition to her normal food and see how she gets on.
I did notice that she wasnt limping at all on our second walk which is huge progress.
