She's home now! It was the receptionist at the vets that gave me the 5.40 appointment, then a bit later the vet rang and said it would be much better for Joy to be at home with me rather than stuck there all day just because of the appointment system and he suggested I picked her up a.s.a.p! I didn't really need any encouragement and here she is now, back where she belongs, still a bit on the quiet side but looking SO much better than when I last saw her on Monday! She's on harness and lead walks only for the next 5 days and has 4 different meds to take (I've drawn a chart up) and must have soft food only for the next 5 days (have stocked up on chicken and tuna). She's waggy and licky and bright eyed. Still won't take anything from my hand but eating really eagerly from her bowl and the vet said all her tablets can be crushed up and mixed with food, so I don't forsee any problems there. Wonderful to have her back!
