Homer being sick

He is still having reflux at 2am -4am. This is mostly when he brings up mucus or bile sometimes some bits of food
This part here I wonder if it’s just because he’s hungry in the middle of the night? All three of my recent animals would do this in the early early mornings and I had no idea why until I saw online about animals doing this if their tummy’s are empty. So I started to give bigger meals in the evening for dinner, or little bed time snacks I hear works, and that stopped it from happening. Unless Axel had an exceptionally more calorie burning day and I didn’t compensate enough for it, then he would throw up bile.

He’s finally got his place at the table! 😍

This looks like a great solution. Perhaps also a mat on the floor so that his back paws can grip. And a mat under the bowl to stop it slipping. Snowie’s stainless steel bowl has a rim on which I place a heavy rock so that it stays put when he licks it out.

Dinner is served, Sir!

We are making slow progress. This set up seems to work for us and him. He gets his slow feeder or his lick mat to slow him down a bit after his meal. He is getting better at night but still makes gaging retching noises. I made a special night time pillow to keep his head up a bit more. He has been bringing up his lunch and dinner soon after eating then eating it again off the floor. Somehow second time round it manages to stay down. Lucky we can keep the back door open and he manages to get outside to vomit.
It’s not Addison’s or Cushion’s. Still waiting for more blood test results including testes for Myasthenia Gravis.

Wonderful photos! He’s doing so well. And so much effort from you.

It is odd though that when he eats normally (the vomit) with head down, it stays down. 🤷‍♀️

On vet's instructions, I do have to persevere with the standing up feeding for a bit longer. If anything its that he's not standing up for long enough.
He did really well yesterday but today has been sick a number of times with thick sticky mucus and some food. :tmi: At least the sticky mucus is somewhat easy to clean up because it sticks into a slime like gloopy blob.

He did really well for a full 36 hours! No vomitting or reflux all of yesterday and our fourth night of no reflux or regurgitation. I finally feel that we are making progress in how to manage his condition.

He vomitted his breakfast this morning after being fed upright. He then eats it all up from the floor and it stays down. I am trying to get my head around this, the vet doesn't really have any answers for why either.

He is negative for all that they've tested for.
"Ach receptor antibodies; these are negative and therefore not supportive of a diagnosis of myasthenia gravis. The diagnosis is most likely idiopathic megaesophagus although I cannot rule out the possibility of it being paraneoplastic (due to the previous adrenal tumor)."

So I'm not sure if this is now how he'll be or if there's a chance of remission.
