I must admit that I had the feeling that the 'not drying out' was perhaps more to do with their soft furnishings than their dog, but didn't want to be jumping to conclusions when I know so little about the breed. The owner has spent all day sitting in their yard with his shirt off. I have to say that thisevening he looked a tad too 'dried out' to me!
That's up to him though, what about that poor little pug? I'd go and scoop her up to come and live with us if I didn't think I'd be accused of theft! She'd have a great time here with Joy and Loki!

It’s been 36 here, but thankfully I’ve managed to keep the house reasonably cool by opening windows and doors when I got up, then closing them and the curtains after breakfast. The sitting room has been 26 and with a fan going all day it was quite comfortable - as long as I was sitting still!

The dogs haven’t been out, except for being in the garden early this morning before it started to get hot. They’ve been happy snoozing indoors, with the occasional burst of activity, and didn’t really start nagging until Tuppy thought it was supper time! They’re now back in snooze mode. Let’s hope it all cools down soon.

We had the “heat dome” last summer with 40C for about 10 days to two weeks. Brutal. We slept downstairs and only had short walks in morning/evening. Most people don’t have AC and it was very dangerous for the elderly. I kept windows and blinds closed as much as possible but after a few days it was hard to get the house cooled down. So I don’t envy you guys at all. Hope it doesn’t last too long!

It probably sounds strange, but I've really enjoyed today! I do like hot weather, as long as I have the means to keep cool and my dog is safe and happy, and that's how it has been today, so all is well. It obviously makes everything easier in that I no longer have to go to work, and I live in a house that stays cool without needing air conditioning, but today has been a lovely day and it's wonderful to sit out here in the cool now, watching the bats.
Definitely bed time now, no matter how nice it is! Goodnight. xxx

We have thunder storms approaching from the west , the sky is a very odd colour indeed . Reuben and Nelly are going nowhere today as she was struggling last night and I was quite concerned about her . She is fine this morning but they have a decent sized garden and this will do for today . On a lighter note , I have a three hour hairdressers appointment this morning, talk about picking the wrong day ! xx

30° indoors here now. The dogs have decamped to the hall which is *only 25°.

I’m off to Germany on the 31st July for two weeks but had to pack my bag today as Mr Boogs is off in the car to 'our' flat in Heidelberg to start (another) epic bike ride from Munich to Verona. When I fly out to join him I can’t take a suitcase as I’m banned from lifting. Thankfully I have enough summer clothes to keep here and to pack.

Now I will sit and do nothing but drink iced coffee and peruse the forum for quite some time!

Ugh it’s 39 outside - won’t go down to below 30 until after 9 this evening. We’re cool inside but I’ve just stepped outside to get my washing in 🥵. At some point I’ll need to take Red out for a wee but……..

Oh I wish it would rain and thunder here in the Midlands. I have just had to go in the garden to find Rourke as he will insist on going out and I burnt my feet walking across the patio to find him! I have had the fan on all morning and put a cool coat on him and silly dog wants to go out!

It rained here for all of 10 mins and made it even worse! Super muggy now but cooled the pavements enough to take Neo to the nearest bush for a pee (even though there are plenty to choose from in the garden 🙄), then straight back home for a paw dip and cucumber bobbing in the pool.

It got to 38 in our kitchen, our kitchen has a large galss sliding door so was expecting it to got hot in there. The living room got up to 6. I had all the doors and windows open with the curtains closed. I'm not sure if that made inside warmer but there has been a good breeze, although a warm breeze blowing through the house. By mid afternoon Homer was beginning to get really fed up and kept on looking at me asking for me to make it more comforatble for him.

It's 34.5 now at 6pm.

Its still a dry heat here. I can't stand humidity.
